The Automatons are no more, what is next for Helldivers 2?

The Automatons were wiped out in the latest Major Order, but now players are left wondering what the future of Helldivers 2 will look like.

If the game is anything like Hell Divers 1 then the Automatons aren't gone, we'll wipe out the bugs and then the galactic war resets and it back to fighting both with perhaps another faction such as the Illuminate in the mix. They'll probably also adjust the next galactic war so it factors in the sheer amount of people playing the game as they probably didn't expect this many people prior to release

Exactly. When it was coming down to the end, there were over a quarter of a million people playing on the final automaton planets. And we had just started fighting their flying ships.

I don't think they were ready because their spawns don't destruct like everything else in game. And now they are no more.
