How the Nintendo Wii U Failed

The Wii U was a mess in every possible way. The launch was a nightmare, with a dreadful name that no one seemingly liked. The marketing failed to land, as well. You name it. The Wii U couldn’t get a break.

One other problem it had is that for some freaking reason, an external HD needed its own power source, or you would need to buy a Y usb cable, so you could connect it to both USB ports on the console. Such a stupid decision.
I did enjoy Wii U's games, but geez, it was truly a complete trainwreck...

It's very simple; the name. It confused many casuals who all bought the wii. One coworker i had said "I already have a wii, i need the U part" . Console should have had a different name and not try to ride the wii wave.

I agree. I knew sooooo many people that didn't buy the Wii U because they thought it was just a video gamepad for the Wii. They has no idea it was an entirely new system.
