Nihon Falcom wants to "eventually" re-release Trails in the Sky for modern platforms

While yesterday Nihon Falcom announced the latest The Legend of Heroes title for Japan, during their investor Q&A it was revealed that the company plans to re-release The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky for modern platforms - though they don't quite know what form such a re-release might take.

If they released a physical collection of the original Trails of Sky, I would get it in a heartbeat.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Review - The Games Cabin

The Games Cabin writes:
"I’m a big JRPG fan, so it was a matter of time before I learned of Trails of Cold Steel and Trails in the Sky. A few days ago I finally completed Trails in the Sky Series and I’m glad to announce it got me super excited to continue through Cold Steel.

As the title suggests, this review will only cover Trails in the Sky, which is only the first 3 games of a 9 game franchise, with another game coming out 2023."

Don't know if I agree.

Tokyo Xanadu ex+ is a interesting game because it is different from most of Nihon Falcom games. Being very similar to Persona, but never really reaching the levels of the Atlus series because of some issues in the relationship aspect paired with boring characters and in my opinion a forgettable ending.

Ys Seven is another that I find weird to see in a top 5 list. Is not a bad game by any means, but it pales in comparison to entries like The Oath In Felghana.

But overall, I don't think you can really go wrong with a Nihon Falcom RPG. They are all strong in some respect and I would also recommend other series like Zwei and Gurumin, they are not as famous as Ys and The Legend of Heroes, but they are great.

Ys IX was a huge improvement over VIII imo. I think it should easily take the top spot on this list.

I'd been thinking about checking out Trails of Cold Steel for a while now. Kept putting it off but about a month ago I went to finally buy them. Only to see the physical copies price had shot up since the Holiday season. At that point I went ahead and bought I & II on the PS Store then proceeded to order III and IV physical copies. Chalk it up as another RPG/game I should've bought sooner lol....

So after few weeks I wrapped up Trails I a couple nights ago and jumped straight into II. Not sure if I'll make it through the entire series or take a break. However after finishing one I couldn't wait to get into II & I have a strong feeling that will be the case moving forward. It's just a dam good game and watching the story progress from game to game.... let's just say I'm glad I went and started with the first.

No title from the Crossbell duology. Tokyo Xanadu ex+ is in.
I don't agree.
