Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be one of the biggest titles of 2024, and we're now only five months away from its launch!
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth publisher Square Enix has declared a $140m loss based on a shakeup of its internal development pipeline.
What are they doing over there? Sounds like they canceled something big. I read a rumor a while back about ff9 remake . Here "Final Fantasy IX has gone through a very challenging development, the game is still in progress but may undergo changes drastic enough that we won't hear about it for a couple of years."
This could be one of the reasons if the rumor is true. That was Silknight i don't know how credible he is but it's something and it would make sense.
The industry implosion is continuing. Sky high budgets, prolonged development windows, stagnant sales numbers, and falling currency values (inflation) are wreaking havoc on the legacy industry. AAA games will slowly become the rarity.
- Xbox Wire - Mark your calendars! The Xbox Games Showcase followed by [REDACTED] Direct airs June 9. More info inside.
For a brief moment I thought we might get a whole Direct for Gears 6 - seems like it's COD though!
NPD analyst Matt Piscatella has hinted at sales of Square Enix's Final Fantasy VII Rebirth having underperformed in the US.
Its a great game but the texture resolution on props/environmental assets is unacceptable I dont think its right for a AAA videogame company to put out a game for $69.99 with such low quality assets. The character models and Character textures look great but again the blurry textures on environmental assets is shocking for a game on PS5. I see hardcore FF7 fans on reddit defending the asset quality however nobody defended the apartment door textures on FF7 Remake but for some reason nobody cares about FF7 Rebirth's abundance of low quality assets.
It's funny how often the term "analyst" gets tossed around nowadays. But again, that's the only way they can remain relevant.
They should of released it on Xbox and PC as PS5 owners don't seem to buy JRPG'S. Also they could of made a deal with MS to have it on gamepass Day 1 with MS giving them a few billion to make up for sales.
Hopefully the new CEO of SE will cancel all exclusive agreements with Sony and make Part 3 and all future SE games multi-platform.
people grew tired of this episodic greedy releases
better wait for the complete edition, no need to wait years between episodes
by the time they release another part, you already forgot where the story left
people want complete games not crumbs, glad it under-performs
that's a lesson
Can't freaking wait! I only have one tiny nitpick from everything I've seen so far. The ground clutter. There is a ton of pop-in going on when moving around with small rocks and foliage. I hope they can touch that up a bit before release. The game itself looks like everything I could have hoped for! I hope there are a ton of different cards to collect, for Queen's Blood.
Man, this is one of those games where when I saw the gameplay, I could tell immediately they’re raising the bar. I can’t tell you how hyped I am for this! It’s not crazy far out, but the wait is still getting to me.
There’s also Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Remake to juggle before then. Dang, 2024 is a good time to be a JRPG fan.
oooo boy i cant wait, im already dodging news and gameplay like a pro haha
this should be a good 75 hours of entertainment
looking forward to tomorrow where its 149 days away from launch
