The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was nothing short of a masterpiece when it came out in 2017, but six years have passed since then and some of the game’s more unpleasant aspects have become more apparent over time.
A new hardware mod for the Nintendo Switch allows the console to run The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom at a resolution of 4K.
4k turd doesnt look very good. resolution of textures, poor lighting, bad models and shaders wont be saved by upscaling a video to 4k
its astonishing that nintendo games will never achieve it. maybe in 10 years when all of us have moved on to greater things
At the 2024 Game Developers Choice Awards.
GoodSmile Company formally revealed The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Link Figma, which comes in a standard, and deluxe edition. - IS
Hard mode still not included, likely 20$ like botw. Game is way too easy to actually enjoy. No story, still very small enemy variety too, not one new weapon technique, so core combat is exactly the same
But I've been told that BOTW is perfect.
Idk. It kinda fixes some problems but...not really. Having had 50+hrs and beaten it, it's basically just more botw, more of the same lol. I mean, I still really liked the game though. They could've used a lot more QOL stuff and the story was...meh. Gameplay fantastic though and is mostly why you want to play this and the original.
"six years have passed since then and some of the game’s more unpleasant aspects have become more apparent over time".
False, they were apparent at the time of launch but completely ignored because "Zelda". For me weapon breakage is just an unecessary chore and would have been a dealbreaker in any other game.
No one has ever played a game and said to themselves "You know what would make this game even better? If my weapons have limited uses before they break, so that I constantly have to spend unecessary time doing weapon management".
Can you imagine Ghost of Tsushima or God of War implementing this? They would suck big time and be torn to shreds....... but in Zelda it's a "feature" and you even have Zelda cultists claiming they enjoy it!
