Persona Series on Xbox — Announce Trailer | Xbox Game Pass - Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022

You never saw it coming!

Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable are coming to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC!

Persona 5 Royal releases October 21, 2021!

Doge685d ago

Perfect for my Steam Deck~

RaidenBlack685d ago

Damn, Person 5 Royal on PC? That too this year?
Well it was obvious since they released Persona 4 Golden to PC already. So it was bound to happen some point.

RedDevils685d ago

Got a feeling this will happen, especially how they have no exclusive game this year gonna pay someone to excite people.

Lightning Mr Bubbles685d ago (Edited 685d ago )

Not hating on their showcase, but they could of just said Persona collection coming to game pass, Kojima is working on a new game for us and then showed us Starfield and that would of saved us like an hour.

Lightning Mr Bubbles685d ago (Edited 685d ago )

I take it back, I guess I am being a bit of a hater. But I saw most of the show and I honestly found most of it pretty forgettable. Really only the last 3 announcements had any significance in my view but that's just my opinion. And starfield does look pretty amazing, it looks like Fallout in space which is pretty cool.

LOGICWINS685d ago (Edited 685d ago )

Agreed. I'll be playing all these games on Game Pass, but when old Playstation games are the best announcements in your show....there's a big problem.

@Shiken I'm an Xbox fan as well, but we need to give them constructive criticism. What was shown today that made you jump out of your seat?

Shiken685d ago

I wouldn't call it the best, just the most suprising. There is a lot to look forward to in the next 12 months as an XBox owner here.

Orchard685d ago

I guess he didn’t see Starfield or Kojima announcement. Those are both huge and not “old PS games”.

Father__Merrin685d ago

Nothing was shown.only starfield really looks great. The rest were filler games that's suites to gamepass. And kojima game seems just 8n concept

gangsta_red685d ago

I don't think it was the best announcement, it was definitely a surprising announcement considering this has been rumored to be happening for a while now.

alb1899685d ago

Wow Long looks really good!
Forza Motorsport too and Starfield is a must for me!

ABizzel1685d ago

Not a thing was shown that wowed me. There were some good titles shown, a bunch of things I'd pass on had they not been in GamePass and things I'd pass on that are coming to GamePass. But there was no "megaton" there and Starfield was not the showing I was hoping for. The exploration could be amazing in Starfield if done right like Fallout / Elder Scrolls, but with so many planets I'm doubting there are tons of sidequest on all of them and instead just barren, but solid looking maps with random wildlife. I'm hoping I'm wrong on the exploration, because that is what my hop is riding on for that game.

The showcase also adds further damage lending to all the rumors that many of these games are in development issues considering most of them are 2024 / 2025 / 2026 now which is insane considering they were all shown in 2020. Hellblade, Fable, Avowed, State of Decay, etc... are all likely 2024 or later.

IMO this showcase was more of a PC+GamePass showcase with Xbox being the 3rd wheel.

It looks as though Japan is only allowing XB to showcase legacy titles. Who hasn't played the Persona games on other platforms? This is the type of announcement I'd expect for the Switch not the SX.

Orchard685d ago (Edited 685d ago )

I have plenty of friends who have only ever had Xbox consoles or PC and haven’t played those P games.

This would also point towards future P games coming to Xbox - and maybe even GP.

Yui_Suzumiya685d ago

Guaranteed these will also be announced for Switch

RedDevils685d ago

If they had PC they probably play Persona to dead by now.

babadivad684d ago

I've never played them despite having ever Playstation platform. Since it's gonna be on gamepass for no additional cost, I'm going to play them now.

persona 5 is a great game, i played it on ps4 yrs ago. i put alot of hrs into it, very fun game. not very impressed by this showcase at all.. if starfield and redfall are your big hitters, that says something. watched all the trailers not once did i feel i was missing out being a ps5 owner only. certainly nothing here looked better than HFW let alone the eventual drop of ragnarok later this yr. at least xbox has some games finally coming from 1st party, but none of them look like they are must play games. i was a little uneasy when kojima showed up, but then it ended up being just an announcement of an announcement. not sure they needed 90 mins showcase, i was expecting alot more. sonys 3rd party showcase earlier was alot stronger than this imo. FFIVI and RE4 remake look better than every single game on here.

Both consoles have been slacking hard with exclusive titles since launch. I will definitely be buying a PS5 when Ragnarok comes out, but that still doesn't have a release date. We're also going to be waiting a long time for FFXVI and RE4 Remake. Very possible both get delayed.

RedDevils685d ago

It's on steam for a while now, and of course you can game it on steam deck so what the big deal?

Okay now that's insane, NINTENDO YOU SEE THIS GET YOUR BUTT MOVING

Shiken685d ago

The direct is next week, pretty sure we can expect to see this here as well.

smashman98685d ago

I doubt that nintendo would want to have sloppy seconds on this announcement in their biggest direct of the year.

TGGJustin685d ago

There is no direct confirmed for next week. Likely coming later

Yui_Suzumiya685d ago

That's what I expect as well. These will all be on Switch too.

Sirk7x684d ago

Expect maybe one or two surprises, Zelda re-releases, a BotW2 and Metroid Prime 4 trailer. Best case scenario a new 3D Mario, since it's been 5 years.

Persona: How A Spin-Off Game Series Can Ruin The Original

"Newer Persona games dive into the simulation of a high school student at the cost of RPG mechanics compared to Shin Megami Tensei." - Najam from eXputer.

DrDoomer6d ago

Persona (particularly 3,4 and 5) is the best thing to come out of Atlus, by far. The only way other games get ruined is by paling in comparison.

gold_drake6d ago (Edited 6d ago )

thats a hot take if ive ever seen one.

atlus aint just persona.

they have plenty of games that are fantastic that are not persona.

maybe in sales sure but not in quality.

DrDoomer6d ago

Not saying those games are bad. I'm saying Persona is just that good.

Stopac6d ago

That's a bad take.

SMT had a niche following. So did persona. They redid persona starting with three to reach an wider audience. Nothing happened with the original SMT and have stayed the way they were. If they were to revamp that main series you could get what happened with soul hackers lol. You want that?

Barlos5d ago (Edited 5d ago )

A spin off is a spin off. Why would they ruin the original? If you like the original then that's great, you can carry on enjoying it. If the spin off is crap it has no impact on the original at all.

I love Persona 5 and P5R but I have zero interest in Strikers or Tactica but even if I played them and didn't like them they wouldn't ruin the original games for me.

Same goes for if you like the SMT games but don't like Persona, why would that suddenly make SMT bad?
