I take it back, I guess I am being a bit of a hater. But I saw most of the show and I honestly found most of it pretty forgettable. Really only the last 3 announcements had any significance in my view but that's just my opinion. And starfield does look pretty amazing, it looks like Fallout in space which is pretty cool.

Not a thing was shown that wowed me. There were some good titles shown, a bunch of things I'd pass on had they not been in GamePass and things I'd pass on that are coming to GamePass. But there was no "megaton" there and Starfield was not the showing I was hoping for. The exploration could be amazing in Starfield if done right like Fallout / Elder Scrolls, but with so many planets I'm doubting there are tons of sidequest on all of them and instead just barren, but solid looking maps with random wildlife. I'm hoping I'm wrong on the exploration, because that is what my hop is riding on for that game.

The showcase also adds further damage lending to all the rumors that many of these games are in development issues considering most of them are 2024 / 2025 / 2026 now which is insane considering they were all shown in 2020. Hellblade, Fable, Avowed, State of Decay, etc... are all likely 2024 or later.

IMO this showcase was more of a PC+GamePass showcase with Xbox being the 3rd wheel.

It looks as though Japan is only allowing XB to showcase legacy titles. Who hasn't played the Persona games on other platforms? This is the type of announcement I'd expect for the Switch not the SX.

This would also point towards future P games coming to Xbox - and maybe even GP.

persona 5 is a great game, i played it on ps4 yrs ago. i put alot of hrs into it, very fun game. not very impressed by this showcase at all.. if starfield and redfall are your big hitters, that says something. watched all the trailers not once did i feel i was missing out being a ps5 owner only. certainly nothing here looked better than HFW let alone the eventual drop of ragnarok later this yr. at least xbox has some games finally coming from 1st party, but none of them look like they are must play games. i was a little uneasy when kojima showed up, but then it ended up being just an announcement of an announcement. not sure they needed 90 mins showcase, i was expecting alot more. sonys 3rd party showcase earlier was alot stronger than this imo. FFIVI and RE4 remake look better than every single game on here.

Both consoles have been slacking hard with exclusive titles since launch. I will definitely be buying a PS5 when Ragnarok comes out, but that still doesn't have a release date. We're also going to be waiting a long time for FFXVI and RE4 Remake. Very possible both get delayed.

Thats the glory of gamepass. It lets people try new things and expand their audience. Scarlet Nexus is a prime example of that, and gamepass will likely draw in more Japanese devs in the future as well. Since the up front check from MS would offset the worry you are expressing in your comment, it allows these games to grow in fanbase which is only good for future entries in any IP.

Well to be fair Xbox fans have proven again and again if it wasn't on gamepass they don't support these games in sales. Gamepass own statistics show a steep drop in 3rd party sales on Xbox

They've got more Series units sold in Japan already that Ones; there's certainly more of an audience there now. Personally, P5R isn't a game I would buy because it's not my favorite genre, but plop it in Game Pass - I don't have an excuse to not at least give it an honest shot after reading all the fan raving over the years

Erm, Sony didn't lose anything squire. Yakuza was never exclusive as a result of Sony dealings, it was simply as a result of the publisher appreciating they traditionally were selling to Japanese audiences where XBox is a non concern.

The Yakuza games still exist on Sony consoles and I have no doubt that Persona 3 and 4 will arrive to Sony consoles too.

How long has it been since a new Yakuza was released? They're usually around $5 a piece on every sale so they've clearly had their run on the PlayStation platform. They made some extra money by allowing them to go to GP. Restimulating legacy games is smart business. PlayStation didn't lose anything because people prefer them, not just for exclusives, but also for their proven track record. You guys are sad because you need to see Sony lose so that you can feel like winners.

Show the numbers that support your stance? Last I checked, the PS5 is the most sought after product right now and I'm more than sure those people are not thinking about Yakuza nor Persona. I'm really disappointed that the port for p3 is p3p. That is so weak. Really wished sega had done the work on 3 fes to bring it atleast on par with golden. It wouldn't have been that hard as the community modded direct party control into the game via emulation so it really shouldn't have been an issue for atlus. It is what it is tho.

Royal is a huge improvement over the base game. Most of the textures, lighting and character models are updated, so the game looks significantly better. Lots of balance changes, more actions per day you can complete, new characters, whole new section of story, etc. Absolutely worth buying again.

I did pay to play Royal and personally, I am pretty pleased that I did. I want to support the developer in the hopes that they will invest in the next Persona game.

These kinds of comments demonstrate why most major publishers are avoiding releasing their major titles on Gamepass. They know that to do so completely devalues their games. Gamespass users are increasingly adverse to the idea of buying games and that ain't a good thing if you care about a healthy industry that will invest in expensive single player titles.

1_the devoloper only "choose" to put their games on gamepass when they know its ganna profit them(never heard phil puting a gun on anyone)

2_70$ its not supporting devolopers its total greed that some certain fans try to defend instead of fighting it.

These are fantastic games and all, but man, has this new gen been messed up lol. I own a Series, because I have a huge digital library, I game share with someone else, have Gamepass, and most of my gaming friends play on Xbox, so the ecosystem makes sense for me. I really, REALLY would also like to get a PS5, but a couple things are stopping me. One, I still cannot FIND one lol. Two, the only exclusives out right now that I have any interest in playing are Demon's Souls and Returnal, and I'm not sure a purchase is warranted yet just to play those...
Don't get me wrong, there have been some amazing third-party games for both consoles in the last year and 7 months or so, but Covid sucks, and it just feels like both Series and PS5 are really slacking in the exclusives department so far.

Sony's not slacking, especially if you play all genres. Sony caters to a more varied spectrum of gamers than MS does so if you're waiting for a limited genre no matter where you play you're going to be disappointed. I currently have over 100 PS5 games because I'm more interested in experiencing everything making my next gen experience a more satisfying endeavor.

I still have my PS4 Slim, I could sell that to go towards a PS5 if it ever becomes available to the point where I don't have to hunt it down; I'm just saying there hasn't been much need yet to upgrade, since I chose a Series console first, and most games have still been cross-gen since this new console generation has started. I have a passing interest in Ratchet and Clank, but wouldn't pay any more than $20 for it, so that's a long wait. I've played FF7R, and have no interest to upgrade just to play Intergrade. Ghostwire Tokyo is kind of a meh for me, despite loving their work on The Evil Within Series. I prefer to use PS consoles for single player experiences, as I have no interest in paying for two gaming subscription services, and there's just not enough of those games out yet for me to want to spend that money.
