Disco Elysium The Final Cut Review - Pure Dead Gaming

Disco Elysium is a truly unique, narrative-driven point-and-click RPG that puts you in the shoes of a detective caught in the middle of a murder investigation… and so, so much more. While not without flaws, it’s well worth playing for those looking for a deeper story - and maybe even deeper meaning.

Such a unique and special game. I played it on Xbox series x and I can’t recommend it enough especially if you have ps plus.

got_dam204d ago

You are only getting down voted because of the platform you played it on. People are petty as hell.

MetalProxy204d ago

We don’t need to know the platform. That’s the problem

GhostTurtle204d ago

Everyone on this site is petty as hell when it comes to xbox.

GhostScholar204d ago (Edited 204d ago )

@metalproxy

The reason that I made a point to say that I played it on Xbox is to try and show that I don’t have a bias. There is this narrative that if you primarily play on one console or the other that you’re a fanboy. I’m a fanboy of games. Also, I love Xbox and I’m not gonna pretend that I don’t just so I don’t get trolled on here. Xbox is my favorite console but I love a ton of PlayStation and Nintendo games. Super mario bros wonder is currently my game of the year. Spider-Man 2 is incredible. I also loved star field. I just love good games.

I'm looking forward to this game. Showing my age but I remember planescape torment. A game that was more about dialogue than anything else. And world building.

Tapani204d ago

I'd say Disco Elysium is even better written and has a very unique twist to it. I liked Planescape Torment, but sometimes the most simple tasks had an excessive amount of text. In DE The Final Cut, the 100% voiced dialogue is a big plus and makes the game more immersive.

You'll probably like this one.

One of many games that I bought on sale and has been stuck in the foggy expanse of backlog limbo.

VincentVanBro204d ago

Disco Elysium is one of the best games of all time, but can we please stop calling these “free” games? It makes zero sense, these games are only playable via a paid subscription service. It’s like calling Stranger Things a free tv show on Netflix.

roadkillers204d ago

Yeah. Realy free games are ones you borrow from the Library. #SupportYourLocalBrary

Elda204d ago

Exactly. It's ridiculous every time when you see a subscription service article saying the games are free knowing that's further from the truth. They all require a sub fee & that's paid with money.

anast204d ago

I have it on PC. Looks like I'll be playing it on PS plus, best value in gaming at the moment.

VincentVanBro204d ago (Edited 204d ago )

I strongly suggest playing on PC. Far better interface for this style of game with mouse and keyboard

1nsomniac204d ago (Edited 204d ago )

I have it on both PC and ps5. It actually plays really well with the controller.

anast204d ago (Edited 204d ago )

@VanBro
I've already played it on PC. I get tired of sitting at my desk. I can relax even if I have to overcome a clumsy interface.

@Insomniac
That's cool. I'll be chillin on this game.

@ Si-Fly
I am not qualified to help you.

Good month imo. I'll play Gotham Knights and House of Ashes. I'm finishing up Disco E on Steam right now - that's a superb game.

cthulhucultist214d ago

House of Ashes was weird but one of the good weird ones! Really enjoyed it
