3 Ways That GTA 6 Can Avoid Cyberpunk's Mistakes

KeenGamer: "After controversy buried Cyberpunk's launch, can Rockstar avoid the same disappointment with its next GTA title? Cyberpunk and GTA certainly share similarities in both open world and mission design. But there are many ways that GTA 6 can maintain Rockstar's reputation after CD Projekt Red's has been destroyed."

I have never played any Rockstar game that was as buggy as Cyberpunk yes I have seen some bugs in some Rockstar games but no where as much as Cyberpunk. As for GTA 6 I don't see that popping its head up any time soon Rockstar is to busy milking GTA 5 since they just added Cayo Perico to GTA online. I wouldn't be surprised if we see Saints Row 5 before GTA. Even then I have never seen a Saints Row game that was as buggy as Cyberpunk either.

mikeslemonade1234d ago

That should be announced by the end of this year. The online doesn’t require the entire team. As far as mistakes, they committed one by not skipping Red Dead. And another thing is they need to keep GTA6 on current gen platforms only.

mikeslemonade1234d ago

I remember GTO wasn’t even accessible at launch. They opened it on a different day.

roadkillers1233d ago

There is no way it is being announced in 2021 when GTA5 PS5 is being released in the second half of 2021. The release date of GTA6 is dependent on the sales of GTA5 PS5. If it stays at the top of the charts like GTA5 PS4 did, we might not see another GTA this gen.

mikeslemonade1232d ago

^Poor decision by Rockstar then making a current gen GTAV game. And it can get announced this year. I think it’s a greater than 50% chance.

porkChop1234d ago

GTA Online was literally broken on release. I'm not sure how it compares to CP on One/PS4, but GTAO was released in an unacceptable state.

Knightofelemia1234d ago (Edited 1234d ago )

I am only comparing the solo story modes of Rockstar's games to the solo story mode to Cyberpunk. I am not sure what GTA was like online when it came out I only take it online time to time on my XB1. No Rockstar game I have played solo may have had a few small bugs but no where near as Cyberpunk.

roadkillers1233d ago

The difference was that everyone expected GTA Online to be messy on release with future improvements. No one was upset because GTA5 single-player was bulletproof. The best GTA online experience we got was GTA4 online and that was alright for its time.

porkChop1234d ago

Ah ok. Yeah, Rockstar's singleplayer games are always really polished on release.

alextdarling1235d ago

Keengamer back at it again with irrelevancy.

Rockstar have got the formula down and know how to deliver money makers

Sciurus_vulgaris1235d ago

Rockstar’s studios have way more experience making open world games.

Dee_911234d ago

True but its common to compare other game to certain elements in GTA. GTA is in its own league, I wasn't expecting Cyberpunk to be a GTA caliber game... I WAS expecting it to be playable lol. Honestly I believe CDPR announced the game and released it too soon. It would have been an great next gen title.. in 2022 with an announcement this year..
Rockstar milked the hell out gta v over 2 generations. I'm sure they have been focusing on current gen for a while now.

masterfox1234d ago (Edited 1234d ago )

Man I would love a Rockstar open world GTA cyberpunk type of game now, putting aside all the bugs in Cyberpunk still it has dozens of things missing from a futuristic urban city, CDPR had more than enough time to create the perfect Cyberpunk game and NO! delaying the game more wouldn't benefit , it seems like CDPR has an internal leadership issues that doesn't have the correct person to handle the game development cycle so putting more time it wouldn't do anything if you have wrong persons in charge, 8 years developing a game is a ridiculous amount of time and it shows definitely something wrong imo.

Usually games in development for so much time are destined to fail , have lots of issues, or is not good enough, I remember games like Too Human or Final Fantasy XV, in the end I think the best thing that Cyberpunk can happen to it is to be released, cause only this way CDPR will be pushed to really put attention to all the issues the game has, cause this time the QA testers aren't CDPR employees the testers are us the gamers in the world and you know you will screwed if you don't fix them, now this time around Developing time really matters, so clock is ticking CDPR. :)

TranceHop 1234d ago

It’s disrespectful to compare Cyberpunk 2077 to GTA. Rockstar Games are on another level of detail and realism. Red Dead Redemption 2 is still the most technically impressive game I’ve ever played

SDuck1234d ago

If there's something you can't criticize Cyberpunk for is detail and it's not fair to go after its "realism" because that's not what they were going for. But yeah, rdr2 is also the most impressive game I've played even though it had a problematic launch on pc

C4rnos1234d ago

I think most people are forgetting R* have a development team at least 3 times bigger than CDPR, they also don't give their employees direct revenue based on the games' sales.
R* are on another level because they've been putting out massive games for 20 years.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7211d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii11d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast11d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM11d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife10d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit10d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife10d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

just_looken23d ago

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror23d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC23d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken23d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.
