Cyberpunk 2077 review | Easy Allies

Ben Moore: "The impulse to fall into one extreme opinion of Cyberpunk or the other is strong. There are moments when you can get so swept up with the world and characters that the very valid complaints seem small. Yet there are also moments when something will break yet again, and you'd give anything for the man behind the curtain to just hide himself better. The game's ambition is standing on very wobbly legs that feel like they could suddenly collapse at any time. There is greatness, but you really have to fight to see all of it, more than anyone should have to."

Easy Allies are the best reviewers ever!

LoveSpuds1246d ago (Edited 1246d ago )

Agreed, my own view is that the production values of their reviews are the best in the business, Jones is the voice of video games for me, dating all the way back to the GameTrailers days.

Importantly though, as someone who consumes almost all of their content, I have grown to know each of the reviewers personalities, their likes and dislikes and importantly, whose tastes are similar to my own when giving weight to their reviews.

Easy Allies seem like such a positive group of guys, no snarkiness or negativity, they never seem jaded or entitled, they simply love games and love what they do, as you can tell, I am a bit of a fan :)

One thing is for sure, it's very hard to trust CDPR again.

TheExecutioner1246d ago

I know a clown will be commenting “this title should have been kept for next gen”

Let me tell one things ... this title announced for the last gen in mind and new generation version still in works

So please stop being defended to the worst developer of the year

How the hell the make gold in last gen before they gave a full debugging

Father__Merrin1246d ago

Look how CDPR have fallen no chance I'm gonna buy this

SullysCigar1246d ago

I've already put it off for 4-6 months and will decide at that stage if it's fixed to the point I'll bother picking it up once released on PS5.

I'm not liking the deception, fake apologies and outright lies I've seen from them, so I'm even edging towards a used copy lol (ikr? That'lll teach 'em! But it's a principle thing)

Father__Merrin1246d ago

Il possibly pick it up in the new year if it's cheap digitally and wait for series S patch

LoveSpuds1246d ago (Edited 1246d ago )

Merrin, you literally changed your mind over the course of 2 posts??

From 'no chance of buying it' to 'I will wait till the new year'.

LoveSpuds1246d ago (Edited 1246d ago )

CD Project have certainly damaged their reputation, which is such a shame but I dont think I would go as far as suggesting I never want to play Cyberpunk. No question, they will lose a lot of good will from their fans as it is immediately apparent that they essentially hid the PS4/XB1 versions because they knew how undercooked they were, what a stupid move.

Despite all of the issues, I am still bursting to play this game but much like Sully, I am looking to hold on until the PS5 patch comes along and I can enjoy it fully.

I cannot condemn CD Project completely, they are so much more ambitious than the likes of Bethesda and so I can put up with some technical issues, but currently, there seem to be way to many issues and it does impact of how enjoyable and immersive the game will be.

Aussiesummer1246d ago

What does that even mean "lose a lot of good will"?!
The only thing that matters is your cash and wether you give it to them, not your "good will".

LoveSpuds1246d ago (Edited 1246d ago )

@Aussie
I cannot be bothered to fetch a definition for you, but goodwill is an accepted concept which denotes a companies reputation with their customer base.

Put simply, I was suggesting that these latest issues will damage that goodwill.

There are different ways of making money, you can do so as a company without any negative perspectives. CD Project Red were making millions from Witcher for example, but they did so in such a way that their customers saw it as well deserved. They provided an awesome product which the customers were happy to pay for.

GrizToof1246d ago

I have nothing else to go by but the ps4 version on ps5 and..... I love the game and hate the glitches and crashes. 8/10. If I played on a base console im sure my score would be lower. Just my opinion and an opinion from someone that has never been dangling from CDPRs nuts.

Cyberpunk 2077 Director On 95% Positive Steam Rating: "Never Thought I'd See It"

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from being one of the worst games on the planet to being one of the best ones.

DustMan4h ago

I shelved it after a few hours in game at launch, glad I didn't refund it. One of the few games I've actually completed in the last year, and after finishing the campaigns I wanted to just jump back in from the start. They pulled a No Mans Sky and finished one of the best FPS in the last few years.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits11d ago (Edited 11d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7211d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii11d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast11d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM11d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife11d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit11d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife11d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror23d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC24d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken23d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos23d ago (Edited 23d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.
