Star Wars Squadrons Gameplay Debut Flies Out

EA has revealed the Star Wars Squadrons gameplay trailer during today's stream of their EA Play Event. Watch it now!

Overall that EA event was utter crap, as for SW Squadrons, all I see are features designed for MT's and loot boxes. Why no third person view?

Prob cause of VR I assume. If its as fun as the tech demo from Battlefront 2 was I'm all in, but yeah I'm sure EA will do something to load it up with MTX

Looks like they want to make it more tactical than arcade, which I’m a fan of, though I can see why some people wouldn’t be. If I want third person Star Wars arcade piloting, I’ve got Battlefront 2

Confirmed there won’t be micro transactions.

With the 5v5 I first thought it sounds bad, but then thought of games like Siege or For Honor which pull it off. Could go either way, but I would like some AI thrown in to make it a bit more grand

I have seen many pre release statements claiming "No microtransactions" only to find out they just reorganized how you buy into the game. Like Injustice 2 they said it in person, only to sell source gems used for single unlock purchases. Crash Nitro Kart added paid gold coins 2 months after launch, while you could still earn them in game, it's still microtransactions since you are paying to skip the grind. It's loaded PR that just skirts around the direct line to it and people keep falling for it.

I loved that part were the developer explain how more skillful pilots will know how to better manage the ship´s energy in different ways creating strategies in order to survive, rather than just fly around shooting things.

The Rogue Squadron trilogy was damn good back in the day, it's a shame that franchise and genre fell into obscurity. Hopefully this fills the void to some extent, but I'm skeptical. Just let Factor 5 release the trilogy on Switch.

I’m cautiously optimistic - BF2’s Starfighter mode was best in the game, so I’ve been itching for a dedicated Star Wars fighter game since then.

Don’t know how 5v5 will go, but Siege/For Honor pull it off, and it looks like it’s more tactical than arcade.

After they turned around BF2 and published Fallen Order, it’s good to see EA finally making good out of the Star Wars licence

Can someone explain why EVERY single new Star Wars creation almost appears to require prominently featuring primary or secondary female and/or minority characters?? it is so blatant that it has become comical. Almost as if the developer/directors have some form of contractual bonus attached to it.

Announcer - female $ Shot 1 frame 1 - Female pilot running $, Minority female cockpit pilot $, next Female imperial pilot $ and DOUBLE VIRTUE BONUS Imperial commander = Minority female $$. Single player - take control of Minority female pilot $, or wow a minority super rare male character $. When they say diverse characters at your side....that appears to have been the primary design goal.

Coming soon....triple virtue bonus $$$...transgender female minority lead characters!

Also to those paying attention there are a TON of recycled skins here for almost every character from Battlefront. The game appears to be 90% recycled content. Wow EA.
