And vast majority bought to play single player yet its the single player content R* refused to release

No expansions
No single player content
Shark cards
Hundreds of millions of dollars per year with very little effort

They have released those games with full single player story with over 100 hours of content. Anything else they do besides that single player is their wish. They are not obligated to release any single player content further.

Do you ask the same questions for Uncharted franchise for example? No right. They also make a complete and brilliant single player and then release updates for multiplayer. The only difference is that Rockstar is spending a lot more on their multiplayer part.

And why wouldn’t they people crazy enough to pay actual cash for the online stuff.. I actually quite enjoy the online sure you get the odd nob but that’s life. They’ve got so many different modes there’s always players and they’ve supported the online with masses and masses of free content it’s the game that keeps on giving. This month they giving $2,000,000 away. No need no spend actual cash on the online. The single player is great and more than enough content in that for your £40 not that you’d pay that for a copy these days.

How do you know what the vast majority of people do ?
When I go online in GTAO or RDRO the servers are full. GTA5 was released in Sept 2013 and R* still fully supports it and people continue to play , and the same can be said for RedDead,
you will never find an empty server in RDRO.

While we would all love to have more single player content they're under no obligation to provide it. The base games have such a ridiculous amount of content, they could have released half of RDR2 as expansions and the base game would still have more content than most games in the market.

i get the frustration though, Ballad of Gay Tony and Undead Nightmare were great expansions.

Scottish people can be sick bastu**s

The speech / script in these games is what makes them!

(I'm half Scottish - & v. Proud)

sizeofyou1549d ago

Why? Why they sold 150m?
Probably because 150m people (or probably 90-100m what with "double dipping" across platforms) think they produce a great game. Obviously, there are still more people worldwide who dont agree, but it is impressive....

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing694d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy854d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all

6 Games That Genuinely Deserve A Current-Gen Upgrade

Games such as Mad Max, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Batman: Arkham Knight desperately deserve a modern-day revisit.

thorstein10d ago

Mad Max is underrated. Such a fun game.

Cacabunga9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

RDR2 still looks astounding on PS4 Pro. i cannot imagine how it could look with a next gen upgrade.

JonTheGod9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Probably not very different.

No idea why this article is highlighting recent beautiful graphically-advanced games and saying they need current gen makeovers. They already look better than most new releases; just compare Arkham Knight and Suicide Squad!

Yi-Long9d ago

It's obviously never gonna happen since Sony killed the game and studio, but Driveclub. Even in its current state, 10 years after release, it still puts many competitors to shame ...

Demetrius8d ago

I'm not into racing games but yeah I even looked at gameplay of that sometimes

Demetrius8d ago

Mad max ikr! Far cry primal, it amuses me how ubisoft just left ac unity hanging, sadly most of the good staff left from rocksteady while being forced to make that abomination smh
