Xbox numbers are almost inflated by 15 millions. If you research the micro processor distribution of constructed units it doesn't go over 35 million of those chips. So the true number of 35 million seems to be more accurate. The PS4 decimated the Xbox by a clean 3:1 proportion.

Microsoft closed developer teams and canceled exclusives plus the launch mistake of charging people for borrowed games. The lack of exclusives was another factor in the equation. Microsoft had one "top" exclusive for a span of 7 years, Halo 5. They where reluctant to invest money in their first party developers and exclusives.

These numbers are the consequences of their own decisions. The Switch sales sealed the third position of this irrelevant console. Microsoft lost a lot of money in the XBONE project. Their game division needs a serious revision.

Sony and Microsoft should really be selling these systems for $200 by now

IRetrouk1577d ago

Maybe at some point this year? The problem is they are still selling at their prices, and I'd say the platform holders like the profits on them by now lol, I think they will hit that price at some point before the new ones drop.

Gemmol1577d ago

I rather collect the profit gen 8 is over they focus should be collect the profits from gen 8 and sell gen 9 system at a loss to catch up to the switch as quickly as they can this not Wii U situation like before

Wii U started 8th gen a year or two before ps4 and Xbox one in its head start it only had a 6 million head start which ps4 and Xbox one passed it in their first year

Switch a different type of beast tho by the time Sony and Xbox start 9th gen the switch will be over 50 million for its head start

Crazy part people on here believe switch sales will slow down a lot giving the other systems time to catch up, don’t get me wrong I think it will slow down but not the way others on here think I still think it will sell a good amount.

Problem Nintendo have in the past they went months without a first party game the solution they came up with is to merge both handheld and console team together

When they were separated they would make 11 games a year 6 for handheld 5 for console or less for console and more for handheld

Keeping up the production of making games won’t be an issue now even if they get a slow down from 3rd party teams making games

Nintendo in a better situation than the past I’m curious to see how the other 9th gen systems keep up with Nintendo now that the handheld and console team merg together

xbox did not sold 46M. it is closer to 39M, 40M at tops.

Stanjara1577d ago (Edited 1577d ago )

Who knows, but that console only sells if it is 100$ on promotion.
Edit:
But yes something is off. PS4 outsold xbox 3:1 almost the entire generation, but the overall numbers say 2:1.

Muzikguy1577d ago

I agree those numbers are inflated. No way could PS4 sell 3 to 6 times more almost always and still only be twice as far ahead

yup, worked for me a few hours ago

This update on PC kills mods, they still didn't improve or fix the draw calls and if you have an RTX card the game still crashes unless you turn off debris.
So if you mod the game it now looks worse, plays worse, all of your saves are broken and the game breaking bugs are still present.

Good work detective

Bethesda strikes again, always thought their games were a tad boring anyway, this was even before Microsoft brought them. Used to quake 3 team arena to death, on an old pc, at the time it was new, fresh, fast paced and innovative, their games these days, are none-of-the-above

Michiel19898h ago

Ever heard of a game called Doom or Wolfenstein, detective?
Also quake 3 arena was made by ID, which at the time wasn't part of Bethesda.

Yeah I've had friends rebuy the game because the ps plus didn't work and they used to own the last gen version sold off the physical after the PS plus pack included fallout when they got the ps5.

So overall I know ms has likely warned quote a bit from this error.

This game hasn't aged well. I was really looking forward to the update, but I'm just not enjoying it. I never did get on with the settlement building and raiders, and I still don't. I won't be going back to this now.

mkis0071h ago(Edited 1h ago)

Settlement stuff was way undercooked. Too many settlements and QOL updates are needed, and can only be added by mods...which disable achievements. The game does 2 things better than past games: Gunplay and scavenging.
