Arc System Works Wants It to Be Absolutely Clear That Kill La Kill the Game: IF Is Not Censored

Kill La Kill the Game: If is coming out soon, and given the nature of the source material some may wonder if any censorship is involved.

Vits2171d ago

That is rather surprising too be honest. Because that look like the type of game that Sony would love to have some "input" into it.

Silly gameAr2171d ago

The females actually look like they're of age and not all lolied out.

CatCouch2171d ago

After looking it up it seems some of the characters are under 18. Ryuko and Mako are 17 while Nui is 16 and does appear to have the loli look. Other characters are 18. I don't know what Sony looks for when censoring, though.

Vits2171d ago

You mean that they actually look underage? Because a couple of them are.

Silly gameAr2171d ago

@catcouch
But the ones in the skimpy outfits doing most of the fighting aren't underage is what I'm saying. Plus they don't have the face of a 10 year old while having the body of a 25 year old.

CatCouch2171d ago

@Silly gameAr
Ryuko, the first character you see in the video above, is 17 according to the information I get looking it up and she is one in a skimpy outfit.

@TomatoDragon sssh don't try and explain logic to these people, they simply have none.

Silly gameAr2170d ago (Edited 2170d ago )

@AK91

Can you explain logic to the people that are ok with girls that look like they're 12, but have huge boobs and a thong on, in a half a mini skirt? Where's the logic in that smart guy? Kill la Kill is a mature anime, and they look and act mature. How's that for logic? Act like you're missing the point and trying to find flaws in reasoning all you want to.

Let's just pretend that Sony is censoring any and all games that shows cleavage and blood if that makes you happy. I'm done with this shit to be honest.

rainslacker2169d ago

The censorship isn't just about loli art though. It is more often applied to art that isn't in that category. The argument that its only about underage representations is false, and used to try and shame anyone who tries to speak out against censorship.

That's what I said when I was going to be the 1st to comment hours ago.

CatCouch2171d ago

Big thumbs up for informing us there is no censorship. I hope all publishers clarify these things in the future to avoid misinformation and confusion. I ordered the Switch Limited Edition!

rainslacker2169d ago

It's a shame they have to, but I also prefer it to be clear, instead of rampant assumption which most of the time doesn't turn out to be true.

Unfortunately, the censorship debate is nothing new to anime gaming fans as it's been done with localizations for decades now. Just when Sony started doing it on a platform level, it became a console war thing, and now we have to listen to a bunch of idiots try and claim its all about underage girls.

CrimsonWing692171d ago

Good to know Sony has no standardization for what they censor...

Eonjay2171d ago

Its basically anything that could be seen as child porn. In a nutshell. I dont support censoring but when it comes to sexualization of kids I stop caring about what other people are okay with. And I don't think I will ever think twice about being like that.

It's basically anything that Sony feels is inappropriate. They do lay out the details in a vague way in their compliance standards, but it seems like it's not being enforced in a consistent manner. Most of the games that have been affected by it do not contain "child porn".

In fact, none of them do, because child porn is illegal, and games aren't made with child porn. As evidenced by the fact they go uncensored on other platforms. Sony doesn't need to explicitly prohibit child porn, because the ESRB will not give it a rating if it's child porn, hence it won't release on any console as they all require rating of M or less(or equivalent in other countries). Plus, the police would happily deal with the issue.

Rachel_Alucard2170d ago (Edited 2170d ago )

Anything from Japan that could spark outrage on twitter. If they actually standardized it, then their agenda would be exposed. Japanese culture is very serious about that compared to the west even if it doesn't do anything.

Arc systems: it wont be censored

Sony: hold my beer

But jokes aside i hope not.
