Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for August 2018 any good?

Neil writes: "Are the free games being given away via the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for August 2018 any good? Well, depending on your point of view, you will either have found those being gifted for free via Games With Gold over the last couple of months absolute gaming godsends, or utter wastes of time. There is however little chance that the Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles being sent the way of all Xbox Live Gold members throughout August 2018 are anything but the former though."

Really depends on the type of games you like to play for me I would have to say no. I don't typically play Driving game and For Honor (for one is not 60 bucks lol) is kinda hit and miss on many aspects of the game. As for the 360 stuff dont own one anymore so doesn't really apply to me.

Clown_Syndr0me2096d ago

You dont need to as they're BC.

slavish02095d ago

He doesn't have a xbox so he wouldn't know

Jinger2095d ago

The 360 games can be played on Xbox One. All GwG 360 games are BC

Don't tell em, continue letting him make himself look like an 🤬

R_aVe_N2095d ago

Yes I know they are BC I just dont play last gen games anymore.

Jinger2095d ago

@Raven

You didn't say that you don't care about them because you don't want to play old games... you said "As for the 360 stuff dont own one anymore so doesn't really apply to me." Clearly showing that you thought the 360 games were only playable on that system. Once you get called out on your ignorance you now change the narrative. It's cool dude, you don't need to play BC games, but just own up to when you're wrong.

x_xavier_x2095d ago

This is the internet, Jinger. If someone actually owned up to their mistake it would be a miracle.

even during one of Xbox best free games with gold months people like @R_aVe_N still try and hate on Xbox smh lmaol Even though he doesn't even believe the crap he says

R_aVe_N2095d ago

People like Raven? You don't know me lol. I am not a blind fanboy. The only current gen system I do not own yet is Switch atm. I don't like most PS+ games either. If I want a game I buy it.

Aceman182095d ago

Neither of these games interest me for this month. I'll just continue with Ori, after that I'll replay mass effect 1.

lxeasy2095d ago

We all know you don't own an Xbox you gave your self away by saying
"As for the 360 stuff dont own one anymore so doesn't really apply to me."
All games with gold 360 titles are backwards compatible lol you're not fooling anyone.

Personally I have not enjoyed a racing game for years, but I am happy Forza was included so I can try this before forza horizon 4 is released. It gives me a chance to see what the fuss is about so I can decide whether to give horizon 4 a chance.

As for for honor, as a free game it is certainly worth trying and is as good an offering as any month on any service. The only month I can honestly remember having a better lineup is Bloodborne on PS plus, so the 2nd best offering overall seems great to me. But that is just my opinion as a gamer who plays on all platforms.

Wow, this game is still going! Have not played it yet but wondering if it's worth jumping into

INMATEofARKHAM91d ago

I played it when it first came out and it's pretty solid though I did moved on from the MP fairly quick... I did enjoy the campaign and I see the game on sale for a few dollars so I do recommend picking it up on sale.

Garethvk91d ago

It has plenty of action and updates.

Garethvk91d ago

They have had many good updates along the way. There was a great one where you had to defend an attack and you could use hot oil and all kinds of things to defend.
