Just over half of those who have played God of War have completed it. But is that quite as impressive as it initially sounds?

You played yourself they probably took that statistic from people that have PS plus, because it shows the percentage of players that have certain trophies as well so you would need to be online for that. I guess it's too hard to use logic when you are busy trying to hate.

Yea, it should be obvious to anyone who is familiar with gaming how amazing that stat is. It is a VERY clear testament to how well recieved and genuinely like this game is.

1. The game is still very new so many may still be playing through.
2. Just think back of the last 10 games you bought, how many you finished, you might be surprised even with your own completion rate.

I finished God of War I & II on PS2, then Platinumed both Collections on PS3, God of War III, Ascension and now God of War on PS4.
I’m close to Platinuming the collection on Vita, I just need time to go back and do it.
I plan on going back and doing God of War III for PS4 also.

Entirely possible. I did and I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer. For me the key was waiting, even after I obtained the chisel before dealing with the Valkyries. Regarding them, several people on this board can attest that the strategy I used on the three hardest worked quite well.

It is actually a pretty easy platinum as it doesn't require multiple playthroughs or lots of grinding. There are also no difficulty based trophies.

it's a fantastic game but it wore me out. I'm coming back to it to finish but Dark Souls came out and I'm obsessed with that game soooooooooo had to put God of War on the back burner

Well that must suck for you since the frame rate is so different for the consoles in every match you can never feel like you were playing on a somewhat even playing field. :p

I hate cross play. Ruining multiplayer. Rocket League is an awesome game but the cross play really screws it up IMO. I guess I'll stick with exclusive games for my multiplayer fun.

Play through the main story. Most people do not with most games. It is why an average completion rate over 50% for those that started a single player game is quite a landmark. Less than 40% of gamers finish any single player game they begin.

The other half realize how repetitive and similar it is to all other 3rd person cinematic Sony games. After you get past the polish, it’s got nothing innovative. Sales are bad in Japan because they recognize innovate games like Zelda and mediocre, all flash, no depth games like God of War and every other 3rd person game Sony has produced of late.

It's a long game, I'm surprised it is that many. If you look at trophy and achievement stats on psn and xbox live it is rare that more than half of players finish a game.

God of War is incredible. Best game I have ever played. The combat is so fun that losing/repeat fights is actually enjoyable. Regarding the completion percentage. It is a really good considering it is easy to get sidetracked by any of the sidequests or just exploring the world. This game is not short by any consideration.

I completed and got all but 4 trophy’s . Love the game but my PS4 messed up and firmware corruption so lost all saves. Will start it again later this year for the plat, but worn out with it for now to start from scratch again

It doesn’t need to be endless. There is beginning and the ending. Online game can be shut down and you can’t play it again. That’s why I prefer play Singles Player. You care about MP games too much.

why are people saying it's low when many other games are at like 20 ~ 30% completion. this is actually one of the highest ratios for finishing games i have seen. it is even more surprising with how long the game is.

Was never a huge fan of the God of War series. I always though they were pretty overrated games (good not great), but this game was a masterpiece. Everyone should play through it.

It's sad that we live in an era where this is a good statistic. Looking at trophy lists you'd think most gamers suck at videogames. Still, that the ratio of completion for God of War is higher than most is a testament to how engaged players are. Given that the game has sold millions that means millions of players have beaten this game.

It took me about 5 weeks since release to finish. I believe this number will increase since many got it but can't finish it directly. And they shouldn't. Take the time and enjoy. It has enough content for weeks. I believe the stat will increase a bit.
