Far Cry 3 Renders At Native 1440p On PS4 Pro And Xbox One X, 30 FPS On All Platforms

Far Cry 3 has received a quick remaster for the PS4 and Xbox One. This remaster also comes with support for a high resolution on both the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X.

It probably could but the remaster is of the console port of the game and not the PC port - as such, all the timings, physics and gameplay is most likely locked to 30 within the engine.

So it's not a case of 'it can't do it' but more a case of 'the engine and the original code wasn't designed for it'

Its probably because it's a very quick port of the pc version from memory the pc version didn't have 4k support out of the box.

When I played it on pc I only had 1080 monitors so happy to be corrected

No it was never like that, let's not give them a reason not to fix it. A lot of people were complaining about it over on the Ubisoft forums and there are vids popping up on Youtube showing it too. The analog deadzone on PS4 is ridiculously big, don't know about Xbox. There are sound issues with some of the guns too -- the ak-47 playing the wrong sound when fired. It's insane to me that Ubisoft QA couldn't catch this yet it was apparent to me the moment the game handed me control, it feels like crap to play.

Yeah I don't remember it. I remember it playing very well. This is a huge over sight. It ruins the game. It's like not including flipping the Y axis option.

Thats pretty shallow.. My custom PC which is by no standards up to date can run the game maxed out with 60fps..
I dont even see a point getting it for my PS4 Pro..

Back then was a very sweet spot for 4kpc, the end of last gen the consoles were really struggling to do HD resolution and couldn't even lock 30 fps, and pc could easily do the same multiplats at 1080p60, and 4k30fps locked. Then at the start of this gen the hdtvs could do 4k60fps.

I remember playing this a few years ago with upgraded gfx settings over console at 4k, looked great and I enjoyed it, couldn't imagine having to play this remastered version at 30 fps.

No it couldn't, I have a 1080Ti and on max settings Far Cry 3 is not a locked 60fps at 4K.
