Is My Love Affair With the Nintendo Switch Gone A Month Later?

This video Poli Games host, Joseph, gives his final thoughts on the Nintendo Switch. Its been a more than a month since the Switch has been released, and its been a huge success for Nintendo. yet, its had its fair share of controversy. Whether its the Dock scratch gate or the Nintendo Bend Gate. Has my love for the console faded? Or has this console reinvigorated my love for Nintendo?

Ultimately, the lack of 3rd party games for the Switch will result in its failure, just like it did with the Wii U before it. It's not hard to understand that gamers want a good selection of games from many different developers, and that just isn't happening with the Switch. Nintendo needs to just stop producing gaming hardware, they really don't know how to design good gaming systems anymore.

I have a gaming PC, PS4, PS3, Nintendo Wii, and I got the Switch at launch. I'm more excited for the Switch than any other console (except maybe PC).

I like the PS4 but most of the games are involve shooting, and are just dark and depressing. I don't mind that from time to time but I usually have more fun on PC (more variety). The Switch game lineup excites me. Zelda Breath of the Wild is the best game I've ever played.

With Mario Kart, ARMS, Oddessy, Smash (that will obviously come) and some amazing indie games, I think the future of the Switch is very bright. I would love for Nintendo to release Metroid though.

Look at the PS4 games with the best reviews and tell me that most of them don't involve shooting or don't have dark themes. I get it "mature" gamers like the pew pew stab stab games, but that doesn't do much for me anymore.

If you can recommend good games that don't fit my observation then feel free to recommend them.

Superchiller, as much as I despise Nintendo due to their idiotic business practices and I will not be getting the Switch until probably next year when there are more games in store, their games are solely the reason why their platforms stayed afloat; regardless of the Wii U being a colossal failure, but it did contained great exclusive gems that kept people playing the system. Besides LoZ Breath of the Wild, there are more games coming out for it like Splatoon 2 (Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure many people are going to enjoy it.) Arms, Xenoblade 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, and many more Switch titles including indies that are all venturing into the system. Super Mario Odyssey will be released this year's holiday, which you know it'll be a success once it finally airs. So it's actually likely guaranteed that the Switch will be flying off the shelves this holiday. Not to mention that the creators of Pokémon (GameFreak) are hiring people to create their next Pokémon game according to the sources that came in a little while ago, and we know danm well how successful the main franchise sells. If the rumor Pokémon "stars" becomes a reality, then the Switch being a colossal failure like the Wii U is nothing but a mere fallacy. Especially how well Nintendo is advertising the Switch unlike their piss-poor marketing job they've done with the Wii U.

Besides, there are also more unannounced Switch tiltes coming along, too.

I would stop with the doom and gloom if I were you and see what happens in the next 18 months from now.

1. No games? That's always been the case for any new hardware. Either there aren't 200 games on day 1 or I don't like the games. Do you want good games or bad games. If you want good games then you should be waiting 6 months to a year sounds crappy but deal with it.

I cannot get enough of mine, finished Snake Pass today , still got 18 shrines left on Zelda and Fast RMX is great. I'll be getting Mario Kart because its portable and I just love battle mode. There is actually tons of great stuff lined up so those of you saying 'DER IS NUFFIN TIL MaRIO!' No lol.

There's Mario Kart deluxe, Spatoon 2 ,Arms, Fire emblem warriors, Xenoblade 2 a ton of indie game and other 3rd party stuff as well. Stop being such a babyish hater and just admit that the Switch is fantastic. God only knows what's coming to Switch that is yet to be announced. The future looks really bright for Switch. If you want a powerful handheld with killer exclusives that connects to your TV, then Switch is what you want.

If I had to make a video on my thoughts on the Switch then it would be exactly the same as this guys. I couldn't recommend one enough, specially for hardcore gamers who want a truly epic portable experience.

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying the console man! I'm really excited for Mario Kart 8, i didnt get to own in on the Wii U... Since the system was my brothers. But, Splatoon 2 has me so hyped, fan of the original and the beta/demo was excellent!
Some people want to complain, some people want to assume, and predict the future. I'm just going to sit down play some games. Whether on my Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and now my Switch! I dont care what ya game on as long as you game. Thats my motto! I'm glad you enjoyed my video!

I played mine solidly for a month. Now i am waiting for a new release like mk8, but my son is using it so it is not gathering dust. For me it was worth it just for Zelda. Also as a secondary console it is amazing.

The ability to play it anywhere is only possible on Switch. Of course people love Games more than the actual hardware, although Switch is aesthetically a very nice piece of hardware and these supposed issues are affecting hardly anyone, perhaps less than 1% of all Switch owners.

If the Switch owners did not get a screen protector then they are going to be annoyed in a few weeks or months due to scratching/scuffing unless they play games with the device docked.

There are adults that you should not let within five meters of any handheld display device but most (not all) kids and younger teens can be pretty hard on a portable, hence the reasoning of getting a screen protector preferably on the purchase of the Switch.

judging on my past experiences with nintendo i would say it has never been a real love affair. it was always my idea of what nintendo should be. at one point in every toxic relationship, once this realisation was made, there is no going back.

Zelda can only hold the fort for so long. It's frustrating to see this company refuse to follow suit with others.

They created success by offering top of the range products with loads of decent content.

Now all they do is rip people off by providing the most basic of hardware, charge extra for things that should be in the box, repeated Mario/Zelda games that keep it afloat.

So far my experience with the Switch is a mixed opinion, and to prevent sounding like a broken record I'll say I reserve all judgements until more games are available.
