You know that that is only one way to add each other as friends right? There's a whole slew of other ways already in place or that are going to be in place to add friends. Believe it or not some young kids actually don't have an email or Facebook page and friend codes make a lot of sense for them to easily find each other online.

Literally every console ever made in itself is a gimmick. Graphics are a gimmick. Playing a movie is a gimmick. A gimmick is a trick or device used to sell more merch. Also Switch is very accessible to gamer or new fans alike. No new control schemes to learn. It's pretty straightforward. Much more so than Vita touch back or remote play.

Being as business like as Nintendo are, they pay attention to world culture but then, even Disney animators like to draw boobs and Crack too. The Japanese, however, view violence as a problem which is where such extreme violence makes Nintendo nervous.

If you mean in regards to how you feel about those series or their longevity that could be said about any companies properties that's irrelevant and technically that's personally up to you.

Fire Emblem? That series is so irrelevant it's not even funny.

But the reality is based on Horizon zero Dawn existence Sony and Microsoft are probably more likely to create equivalent still those series then Nintendo is likely to create the equivalent of Sony and Microsoft's masterful series.

The fact that Horizon zero Dawn is selling circles around Zelda and it's a brand-new intellectual property sort of disproves your entire post.

Sony just released Horizon zero Dawn it's just broken multiple sales records for the company...

Sony Computer Entertainment has no problem about releasing new intellectual properties and New Concepts that are able to break records this conversation is about what Nintendo could do.

This is about Nintendo broadening their horizons as a publisher and actually releasing New Concepts.

I have no clue what Sony or Microsoft have to do with this conversation, I still don't really understand why you brought them up , we're talking about how to help Nintendo.

TBH, this is a hail mary for Nintendo. Their consoles haven't been doing too good (last 2 iterations). I think it's a desperate attempt to get gamers back on their console platform. If Nintendo gamers weren't ready for more adult games then they wouldn't own Xbox/Playstation's as well in addition to Nintendo consoles. For example I've never owned an Xbox why because Playstation has everything I need and want.. Have I bought every Nintendo console to date... YES! (well except the switch)

I don't see anything wrong with a platform for younger generations. They have their bayonettas and mad worlds but the first party focusing on family fun is a smart bet imo. I think nintendos problem has been relying on the same characters with limited releases. You are waiting for the next Zelda, donkey kong, Mario, metroid, etc. They are not creating new icons and they need to fill in the gaps between their staples.

Maybe some newer IPs beyond their usual. Their usuals are fantastic, but something different beyond their cartoony feel for a change. Nintendo has tons of cash to throw around and a ton of older games to pull from. Imagine a modern day kung fu, kid icarus, gyromite, hogans alley, duck hunt, but place them with more realistic graphics and a great story.

I don't get this obsession with maturity in games. Horizon is one of the best games I've played this year and never once was the reason because it was "mature". Games like Horizon and Zelda stand well enough on their own with relying on themes just so all these teens calling for M rated Zelda can feel grown up.
