Nintendo Switch replacement dock returns to official store

A replacement dock for the Nintendo Switch, which is sold without cables, is back in stock on the official web store. It’s also $30 cheaper than the full Dock Set, at least when bought by itself from the Nintendo website.

It doesn't include the $30 AC adapter (or an HDMI cable), so I wouldn't call it cheaper. It just includes less.

You do realize the Switch can be charged by pretty much any USB C charger right and most can be had under $10, hdmi cable runs you $5 and most people have some lying around anyway. I would gladly take $30 off the dock and use cables I more than likely got laying around

Yes but the dock also has to power usb devices, overclock the switch, and display the image on the tv. So you need to make sure that the plug you are using supports the needed voltage/watts and supports usb power delivery or you run the risk of burning something up.

Vulsker is right.
You Nintendo guys need to chill. For any electronic, you need to match the voltage or if you go low, it would take long to charge and wouldnt be optimal. And if you go high, can damage the battery or components. Open up your phone, if you got a phone that let's you, and read the print on the battery.

Does the dock itself need to be turned on ? Because if so my Switch did not come with a Dock power plug

The AC adapter used for charging the Switch is also used to power the dock.

The power plug that comes with the Switch is the one that you plug into the dock to power the dock on.
