Kojima On “Overly Sexualised” Characters: I Am Going To Take A Different Approach In Death Stranding

Hideo Kojima is an excellent, excellent game maker, but he has come under fire in the past for his unnecessarily sexualized depiction of Quiet in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, in spite of his promise that there will be characterization to add substance to said sexualization.

His studio is in japan. He using Decima Engine from GG. Also, if I said this, you going to be upset about it. But For me, I want to create character to have a backstory and to see how they developed. There was some anime female characters in 90s and 2000 who wasn't over sexually but rather be lovable. For example, Glibli Studio is anime studios for knowing making an excellent anime movie and lovable character.

Edit : For example, Princess Mononoke and Sprited Away have two female characters who have actual background story and an excellent character development. Well, they are not over sexually but they are have great development.

Why would I be upset about you liking characters that aren't sexual? You can like whatever you want Bro. I like characters that aren't sexual as well lol. Clementine was one of my favorite characters the last few years. A "young minority girl" as some would call her lol. People of color is too similar to colored people imo. Its segregationist talk. He defended his work from this interviewer and "some" gamers. Like all three of them that had some triggering issue with quiet. It's not about that. Whether a character is sexualised or not should not really be a cause for discussion; there are good characters and bad characters, and anything else is of peripheral importance.

Fortunately, Kojima understands this: "If I make characters that at first glance might look like this then they'll have a deep background story to give a specific reason why."

To be honest, it seems like the BBC were the ones who brought this up, and it doesn't surprise me. The BBC is crammed full of SJWs paid for by my tax money.

And I am fine with anything as long as it is in context. Forcing shit is when we get problems or low quality games. Female protagonists are amazing when it fits the story, and sex sells because it's a HUGE part of our lives. Maybe all of us are not mature, but immature people buy games also. And mature adults, many of whom have been playing since the original Zelda released are smart and wise enough to know that caricatures are just that. They don't represent an entire sector of society. These are video games, and while it can definitely get absurd, we like fantasy etc.

make what you want, as long as some publisher isn't forcing a dev to change their vision. Whether its character who is sexy or not or what color or gender they are, just keep the vision for the game. Censorship is after the fact changes, which is annoying. As long as Kojima feels free to make what he wants, but i can't help but feel he thinks he's pressured from his Quiet character design, which i hope isn't the case.
