Eventually a Scorpio patch

@phoenixwing
That is the lamest reason I have ever heard from a company , pure BS if they are willing to patch PS4PRO then they should also Patch Scorpio . Cause if not it rather comes off as preferential treatment .

poppinslops3107d ago

Good... I expect it will be delayed from it's 'Spring 2017' slot, so here's hoping I don't have to spend too long agonizing over whether or not to wait for the Scorpio version.

phoenixwing3107d ago

Well at this point in time if you read the article they say they have no plans for a scorpio version. They did say however, that if enough people asked for it on the switch and it was doing well, they'd make it. So I think the same can be said for a scorpio version.

poppinslops3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

Andromeda will launch before Scorpio - probably around the time that AAA studios start getting their hands on dev-kits... Microsoft will want it as a part of their 'launch' lineup, so I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware implements Scorpio support before EA puts them to work on what I assume will be a mountain of DLC.

Kokyu3107d ago

If the Scorpio is coming out holiday next year devs most likely have had dev kits already.

zivtheawesome3107d ago

actually he says they have no plans for scorpio patch and they'll make the pro patch at january-february.

poppinslops3107d ago

Considering how chummy Microsoft and EA have become, I cannot imagine that either party will stand in the way of a Mass Effect patch... the game will almost certainly launch before the Scorpio, so Bioware's team will have plenty of time to do it right.

Kokyu3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

Probably

Christopher3106d ago

They say no plans for Scorpio, but you can guarantee it will happen. It's an EA-owned company, and EA is about making their games look good against the competition on console platforms all together.

No way Switch could handle this. It looks beautiful on 4k with HDR. Can't wait

cartoonx13106d ago

considering its also coming to xbox one, switch is not much far behind. they can easily do 720p/30 on dock. and abit lower with some lower effects on portable.

gamerpop3106d ago

Keep dreaming fanboy. Switch is for Nintendo first party games. Third party will die very quickly. Mark my words.

phoenixwing3107d ago

I'd be interested to see some gameplay that's from the plain ps4 no pro or pc anything.

rjason123107d ago

He didn't "shoot down" plans for the Switch. They're doing the obvious EA move where they wait to see how Nintendos console sells before they commit to it.

_-EDMIX-_3107d ago

Lol, they're also seeing if their game will even run on the platform without significant cost.

It's going to cost them lots of money to downgrade their game to run on a portable like the Switch. Depending on how much a transfer job will cost might depend if we'll see a version or not. you have to consider the Wii sold 100 million units, yet where was mass effect on the Wii? Where was Battlefield on the Wii?

Sorry but it's not simply just how well it sells , its if the game can even be created on the platform at all without a significant cost.

wonderfulmonkeyman3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

"It's going to cost them lots of money to downgrade their game to run on a portable like the Switch"

Reports in the past put the Switch's architecture as using similar language to the others, meaning ports of home console multiplats to this home console are easier and less costly.

On top of that, it's likely to be at least on par with XB1, according to Bethesda, and FROM Software got DS III running on it, quote, " at a level they are happy with", indicating that the system, much like the XB1, could run the game.
But OF COURSE you'd ignore anything positive said about it, if not outright call them lies.

The tech isn't the problem; it's whether or not the system sells hotly enough to justify a late port that people are already planning to buy elsewhere. That's why they're holding back.

Kokyu3107d ago

@wondermonkeyman

The switch has to power modes docked and undocked that means, even if it has similar programing language the game will need extra optimization to make sure it runs in lower power mode with a down clocked gpu and cpu. Thats and extra cost which could be significant. Bash him all you want but you're being blind to the truth in his statement.

The Switch isnt a bew idea anyway its nintendo has had portable to home console play ability for a few gens now. Gameboy had super gamboy it let you play game boy games on your tv, GBA had a player too. The Switch is just that idea in one unit and everyone is so amazed by it. Its stupid and Nintendo doing what its done for two gens now. Trying to predict the next hot trend for nongamers instead of focusing on gaming and gamers.

freshslicepizza3107d ago (Edited 3107d ago )

nintendo has put themselves into a position of wait and see. its a catch 22. fans want third party supoort on nintendo products but in order to get that support it needs to sell enough to warrant them to support it. this is all nintendo's fault to begin with and the history of nintendo and how they support third party developers go way back.

leoms3107d ago

Wasn't mass effect 3 on the Wii?

deafdani3107d ago

@Iemos: nope. It was on Wii U. And that console sure as hell couldn't run the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda.

I just pray that Andromeda won't be plagued by a forced SJW agenda like Dragon Age Inquisition was.

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.

I love this controller. Feels so nice in the hand. Plus the battery lasts for days, it's crazy.

peppeaccardo2d ago

$100 ?????????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????? ???????????????

1nsomniac2d ago

Yea the pricing for Nintendo peripherals is a bigger joke than the game prices. What the hell were they thinking!

peppeaccardo2d ago

i mean for a piece of slightly redesigned plastic with the same take of the last few years this has written GREED all over it ! Shame on Nintendo.

OMNlPOTENT2d ago

It's $85. The standard Dualsense is $75. The Dualsense Edge (Playstation Pro controller) is $200. The Xbox Elite (Xbox Pro controller) is also $200. How exactly is $85 so drastically insane compared to those prices?

Neonridr2d ago

the battery lasts like 10 times as long as a dualsense though.

Stevonidas2d ago

Not true; more like 20.

You may commence with your butthurt, ponies.

fsfsxii1d 23h ago

It doesn't have analogue tho, sooo....

Tacoboto1d 23h ago

$85 USD
or $75 at CostCo (same standard price as a DualSense)

Even at $85, you're getting 3-4x the battery life of a DualSense, and it is (by a HUGE margin) the cheapest first-party console controller with Back Paddles.

The thing is, over the past decade, third-party controllers have really stepped up. You can often get better quality, more durability, and stronger performance for half the price of first-party options. Meanwhile, controllers from Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have become increasingly mediocre, expensive, fragile, and not particularly impressive across the board. What makes this especially noticeable with Nintendo is that they’re surprisingly open to third-party hardware. That openness ends up highlighting just how much better the alternatives are.

Vits2d ago

Pretty much most things by half a dozen of chinese manufactures. Like, 8bitdo, Gamesir, Machenike, Gulikit, Flydigi, Manba, EasySMX, etc.

The exception would be really low tier stuff by those companies... those wouldn't be better, they would be about the same quality. But more durable.

Themba762d ago

Best controller I’ve ever used I even like more than my dual sense edge

UltimateOwnage2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Having used Dual Sense, Pro Controller 1, and 8BitDo Ultimate extensively, I am pretty much in love with Pro Controller 2. The easy reassignment on the grip buttons is such a big plus, but the soft edge joysticks are the best feeling sticks of any controller I’ve ever used. It’s really an awesome controller. The HD Rumble 2 also finally has some thud and the headphone jack is great with a pair of good phones. It’s worth the slight price increase IMO.

Profchaos2d ago

The pro controller 2 for me has the best weight and size it fits the hand perfect like the duelshock 4 did imo

I actually dislike the duelsense controller because of its size but the features are amazing on it.

Still as for the pro 2 no analog triggers is surprisingly something I dont actually miss

PRIMORDUS2d ago

I have the original pro controller and TBH, I don't use it as much. I'm mostly using the Switch in handheld mode with the Hori Split Pad Compact Controller. I also never use the back buttons to program anything so I will not be buying this one here, so that will be $85.00 in my pocket 😂

Very good dev length for a AAA/AA game I'd say. Companies need to set an aim for this range. 1-2 is too little, I believe 3-4 is perfect. Any more is too much. Games don't need to be these gigantic games full of a crazy amount of content. Just make a good game.

Skate-AK3d ago

Lol. Had no idea who that was, but I will admit they do look quite similar.
