The Mr Robot link was the very first thing I was thinking when I saw the trailers. Also what put me off buying the game as imo there is very little chance of the story, production value, the music and tension being as good as Mr Robot especially season 1.

You may not like the millennial theme they're going with but I believe the darker type of thing that they had in Watch Dogs 1 was a bit ridiculous and I felt was very unrealistic and just so forceful.

They tried to make Aiden pearce's character so serious that I believe it made it very off-putting. I actually like the lighthearted nature of these characters in Watch Dogs simply because people like this actually exist.

You might feel the millennial theme is off-putting but do you seriously think we need another serious type protagonist that's out to save the world by any means?

Aiden pearce's character is just so extremely cliche. I'm sorry but this serious thing they had going for Watch Dogs one was not good at all and it's why the game got lots of bad reviews and why consumers don't really hold that game too high regard.

It was more realistic because the first games themes played on what we see in todays world. Secrecy, online hacking, private emails/servers, hidden information etc.

Honestly I hope it stays that way too, I'm not that far in yet but the game screams hipster and shoves it right in your face to the point where I feel like I'm way too old to be playing this game. It's unfortunate as there is some really catchy lines in the game and they touch on some very real subjects but roll with it in such a way that it's impossible to take too seriously or fully appreciate.

I did not know if you notice. But you are ALWAYS complaing about what it was and what things are now with games.

I own both games and WD2 is FAR better than WD1.

I loved the more funny, authentic, lived, colorful and youthful approach of this game.

I kind of tired of sad, lonely, restless, vengeful bloody thirsty characters.

Watch Dogs 2 rests at a sweet spot between the dark themed WD without been wacky and goofy like Saints Row.

Hopefully this game will be successful as it deserves.

Sorry about that. I wonder: Why you can´t simple enjoy games as they are? You don´t even try a game before you talk trash and try to downplay it. I see your comments regarding this game. I remember of your crusade against ROTR and the boycott campaing promoted by some of you. And i´m very happy the game was well recieved for the PS4 crowd. It manages to sell THE DOUBLE than the original on the Xbox One at the same timeframe.

It only shows the real Lara Croft fans don´t let their emotions get in the way of their enjoinment and get the game with all the bells and whistles as the PS4 gamers well deserved. So, try the game before talk trash about it. Just saying. It might surprise you in a very positive light. ;)

Neither Watch Dogs nor this sequel appealed to me for reasons. Apart from some of the Assassin's Creed titles, the stories and characters from many Ubisoft titles seem really poor compared to R*Star and Naughty Dog, which is strange considering the size of the studio and the potential talent they could attract, IMO.

The problem I have with alot of open world games are that they just feel empty, this game does a good job at making the world feel alive. Enjoying it so far but not a GOTY candidate. The game does scream hipster though, idk if they thought ppl would find this cool but its actually quite annoying lol. The selfie shit is ridiculous, don't we get enough of that in the real world.

I haven't played Watch_Dogs 2 yet, and I'm not sure if I will (depends on how I work through my backlog over the holidays and how many games I buy early in 2017) but after reading some reviews, it seems to be a major improvement over the first installment with most reviewers saying it's a lot of fun, and to me, that is kind of the point of doing a sequel. So if it is in fact better than the first game, why are so many people in here having such problems, especially considering many of them haven't even played it? Hmmmmm.......

Millennial is just a term to identify the time one was born. It has nothing to do with beliefs or standards. There are underlying things that millennials do have in common (ie, similar fashion, tech savvy, less prone to drive), but those factors are mainly due to the time they were born. Just how a baby boomer is more likely to mail a check in the mail than pay online.
Most articles that talk about millennials garner controversy and clicks, so I suppose this is a success for the site...

I know we just had an election, so political tensions are still fresh, but what you said is misguided.
Yes, lately a more liberal view was more prominent due to the fact that the current administration leaned that way. But millennials have lived through several administrations. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Trump starting January. So the pendulum swings back and forth (as it has done historacly). So it is fair to say that millenials have absorbed everything they've lived through like sponges and as a result have been shaped by those events into what they are now.

That's only speaking from the US, others countries are different, you cannot expect millenials all over the world to behave like american ones.

Anyway back on topic, the article stated that instead of experience points they would use words like "followers." That is a modern term created by social media made popular by people born near the turn of the millennium. AKA millenials. The game is directed at that demographic and it is obvious. That's it.
