Steep Feels Like The SSX Game We've Been Waiting For

Steep looks like it is bringing all of the best parts of SSX with an avalanche of new tricks of its own.

As much as I would like to pick this up (because I really want a proper SSX), there are just too many games releasing in the same window. Dishonored 2, Final Fantasy 15, Dead Rising 4, Last Guardian, Shantae Half-Genie Hero, Pokemon, and Ubi's own Watch Dogs 2 is only a month prior, and I'm sure I'm missing some.

Gaming4Life19812764d ago

I forgot about dead Rising 4 but I am getting it and I have already pre-ordered ff15.

If the final game plays like the beta it's best to avoid...

kraenk122764d ago

Really?! Damn I was so wishing this to be good.

little-witch2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

yeah, beta was kinda let down. Had some hope. But then Ubisoft.
Best snowboard game for me is still cool boarders

Liqu1d2764d ago

I really wasn't impressed by the beta, it didn't even work most of the time.

NotoriousWhiz2764d ago

Haven't really enjoyed an SSX game since tricky. I may check this one out.

DragonKnight2764d ago

Tricky was amazing. Too bad it won't ever be remastered.

A2X_2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

SSX3 was pretty good imo but nothing will ever top Tricky.

Imagine a current-gen remaster of SSX Tricky. That would be a dream come true. Shame EA BIG doesn't exist anymore, used to love their games - especially SSX & Nba Street.

acemonkey2764d ago

Nothing like SSX game. The Beta was a let down

georeo2764d ago

That's what I was thinking. But, when was the beta? Was there a lot to do? To me the game seem more about just playing with friends, and taking pic's of the in world game.

Liqu1d2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

That's pretty much the game from what I played. You have time trials and missions where you need to rack up points and that's pretty much it. I don't think I experienced everything since the game would consistently crash 1 min after launching. You can see random players on the map and join up with them easily though.

It's basically just a snowy sandbox where you can snowboard, skii, wingsuit, parachute, and hike on a big map full of mountains. Skiing and snowboarding don't have a lot of depth to them and are basically the same.

acemonkey2764d ago

the snow looked great. but the BETA and bunch of numbers and my PSN all over the screen took me out of the game lol...but the tricks seem normal nothing amazing, some times i would command the move( didnt work), it just seem weird lol and i much rather play SSX ( the one that came out recently )

it was cool to have a sandbox type of gamestyle but most of them was the same ( the wingsuits was cool tho) parachute shit

Gaming4Life19812764d ago

I love ssx and I like having it on Xbox one thru ea access but I need some next gen visuals for my snowboarding needs. I was always gonna buy steep but I had my doubts about it but if it's being said in the same sentence as ssx then the hype just got real.

Aenea2764d ago

The beta played nothing like SSX, sadly :(

I loved SSX!

you my sir are a good man and. But the biggest L is they had was not putting in the division

Lon3wolf1565d ago

Would of swapped out WoW for Division personally.

Sono4211564d ago (Edited 1564d ago )

Nah the biggest L is they forgot to add the Pokemon Sword and Shield Wild area ;) You're supposed to be able to take one step and go from a sunny summer day to a cold cloudy winter right?

In all seriousness though, I would say Uncharted 2 deserves to at least be a runner up.

pwnmaster30001565d ago

Wait so no horizon? Why is it the cover page then lol

porkChop1565d ago

For all it's faults, The Division has some of the best winter atmosphere I've come across. Massive Entertainment really nailed that aspect.

bluefox7551565d ago

Interestingly enough, today was the first "heavy snow" day we've had in PA, it's weird, it's been a pretty mild winter up until this point.

william_cade1565d ago

F' their click-fest article...sleezy does it.

jjb19811565d ago
