Final Fantasy XV Director Thinks Frame Rate Won’t Be an Issue at Launch, Details Improvements

The latest information on Final Fantasy XV‘s frame rate provided by Game Director Hajime Tabata entailed both PS4 and Xbox One running the game close to 30 frames per second, and at PAX East DualShocker has a chance to ask him if he’s confident that the team will manage to optimize the game so that it’ll run at a stable 30 FPS by its release on November 29th.

Saying that he doesn't "think" it'll be a problem isn't very reassuring

Abriael2792d ago

"to omoimasu" (I Think) is something Japanese developers will NEVER omit when they say something like this. There's nothing not reassuring in it. It's simply cultural.

Bansai2792d ago

Well if they're going to downgrade it to high heaven, then I hope it won't be.

DiscoMan2792d ago

It's not really something you can reassure.

Lonnie182791d ago

It shouldn't be on the Neo, cmon you know they have a neo version right!

Weird how people are complaining and whining about frame drops for this game in particular, alot of other games cant even keep stable 30 fps on consoles either, take the witcher 3 for example, i feel like people are making it so much more of a problem....all i care about is them improving textures, especially the rocks and debris, also the mountains in the desert area should look less like a smooth slide and more like that grey-ish one somewhere there in the desert area, the kind of flora they used, i dunno if its just me, but it kinda needs to change? I dont feel like it fits in that kind of area... Thats where the focus should lie, duscae region looks good though, no problems there

The frame-rate is worse than the Witcher 3's, it rarely hits 30fps. And this is without mentioning that the game has tons of screen-tear too... There is a reason why it got delayed. With frame-rate that bad the combat in this game, which is action based, will suffer a lot.

cash_longfellow2792d ago

Link to your reason it got delayed? Didn't think so...

This game seems like it would fair far better with Neo and Scorpio, which as it seems will be coming out around the release date of Neo. I wonder if it'll only hit 1080p30fps with 4.14 TF, or if it'll hit 60fps. The game looks extremely demanding on current gen. Kingsglaive has got me all hyped up for this.

Kinda sad that it's having 30fps troubles along with little AA. Really hoping it gets an update with Neo/Scorpio, give me 4x MSAA and unlocked framerate and I'll be fine.

NotEvenMyFinalForm2792d ago

And the AA is a huge issue because this game has variable resolution.

FinalFantasyFanatic2792d ago

So I noticed on the demo (it was very noticeable), I would've have preferred they eased up on the details, even though Final Fantasy is well known for it's impressive graphics.

Gardenia2792d ago

Both demos I played felt like 20 fps or below. I always thought this was because of the engine they use, I'm not sure it will be ever fixed

Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors: "I deserve a lot of criticism."

Embracer CEO demonstrates a masterclass in mental gymnastics in latest interview.
"I'm sure I deserve a lot of criticism, but I don't think my team or companies deserve all the criticism. I could take a lot of that blame myself. But ultimately I need to believe in the mission," he said.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss6d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

jznrpg4d ago

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast6d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

gold_drake5d ago

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
