Many are outraged over a bare-bones release, others couldn't be happier with the gameplay.
Street Fighter 5 launched in 2016, and is widely considered a misstep for the hugely popular franchise. This article explains why that is.
Every Street Fighter is called a misstep of the series since Street Fighter III..and even the Alpha games were not liked by everyone.
SF V had a miserable start but later it did a lot things actually better than SFIV and SF6.
SF6 is the first SF since SFII Turbo for that I did not buy at launch. And today, around 6 months after its launch I still have no motivation to buy it.
I grew out of fighting games, loved them as a kid but online you just get your ass kicked over and over leaving just the bare bones single player and also having no friends anymore who like fighting games either just makes me not want to buy or play them anymore.
Street Fighter documentary 'Here Comes a New Challenger' is now available for all, following a successful crowd funding campaign.

Round One: FIGHT!!
Obviously, this game will be fine and in a few months everyone will be talking about how good it is. Such is life. We already knew this going in so its really kinda a tired subject.
Oh and Mika seems to be enjoying herself :)
Yeah, the gameplay is great. The complaint that this game is little more than an Early Access game is very valid as well. You can have both opinions.
@Eonjay - If I was Ryu... I'ld defo be enjoying myself ;)
Seriously tho, I agree with this being a tired subject. Capcom have been quite transparent about how they are releasing this game for sometime. IMO ''it keeps fresh'' just like another recent FUN game called Splatoon. I paid 38 quid for my copy of SFV... I'll be playing this for long time yet, I can tell that already.
I'm no SF fanboy and haven't played a SF game since before I grew pupes in the early 90`s. I've also had a love/hate relationship with Capcom over the years. Dam!!! Please don't get me on the whole Megaman subject. However, SFV is really FUN and an amazingly well made game. I'm looking forward to the updates next month and in June that bring us some real content.
No shiz, we all should know why by now.
While I am not a fan of episodic games such as what Square is doing to Hitman, or free-base games that sell content in chunks like Killer Instinct, I see the silver lining that would be in the continued support of updating of the game even as the game gets older. Yet, SFV is distinctly different in it's sale scheme. While the other games will have incentive for the devs to continued support being in the form of profit since each part is sold separately, SFV has the full price tag upfront, while extra content is added in later for free. With this, there is no true incentive for the corporate devs to continue support after some time has pass since the release. So, my question to you be, "Would you pay a person the full fee of the work you wanted done knowing only 30% would be done immediately with future plans to finish the rest?" If you said yes, I've got the perfect Nigerian worker for you.
