Digital Chumps:
When I first heard about Elite Dangerous I was very intrigued. To have the ability to traverse billions of stars within the Milky Way Galaxy sounds awesome by itself. The fact that players can visit various space stations, help colonies in need by bringing them food, or smuggling/delivering questionable cargo; adding this game to my personal collection sounded like a no-brainer! Elite Dangerous offers all of this and more, but comes with a twist. It's hard, really hard. This is especially true in the beginning. This is a very unique space flight simulator that offers little to no instruction other than the training programs accessible from the main menu. Add in the fact that there's no real storyline/visual cut scenes to this open-ended game; players may realize this is not your typical game at all. Elite Dangerous offers a compelling opportunity to go where no one has gone before, form alliances with various factions, hunt down foes for a bounty, and even lets the player become a smuggler of goods for massive payouts. Thus, you have the opportunity to become a Space Pirate! How awesome is that, right? Well...it's not that easy. Those of you who are new to the game are in for quite a shock.
In a highly controversial decision developer Frontier has made the decision to allow players to buy ships with real money in their long running game Elite: Dangerous, sparking outrage amongst the community.
'Elite Dangerous' lets you live any kind of life you want in space. From dogfights with pirates to peaceful science missions, there's an option for every playstyle.
What do you mean by quietly?
They announced it last week along the other games that was released yesterday on PS+ Extra/Premium.
Great game, sadly abandoned by the developers due to the different version it ran compared to PC.
Plenty of hours to be had, we just miss out on a bunch of cool features and story development compared to PC players.
Nah I'm good this the dev team that had console plans then decided not to and only work on the PC version why would I support a trash company
its ok. its def a pc game that made its way to console randomly. been out for a few years so its not exactly "new".

Really got into playing this for the first time since the restart on X1 last night. Its a lot more stable now. Game is an absolute blast to play. Its nice that this time I understand what I'm doing from the get go.
Once you get going its so damn hard to stop playing. But everything takes so long to do, so really you need to draw a line in the sand when you Dock for refueling/repairs and to check bulletins. I wanted to go hunt some bounties around midnight last night, but it would have taken me to 1:30 so I had to call it quits.
Don't have any time on my hands for games currently but I am going to make some just for this game. I need to try out these space sims and see what all the hype is about.
Good to see this type of variety on Xbox One.
I've played a ton of this on PC with a flight stick, but I decided to try the xbox version too, I was really surprised how well it plays on a controller, the devs have really put quite a bit of thought into the controls. Really nice game if you have the patience to learn all the ins and outs.
Tough game especially on the controller but once you've got your chops down on flight,it rewards you.
