Persona 4: Dancing All Night Will Take Over 3.1GB of Precious PS Vita Memory Card Space

The game will be available digitally and at retail, but most PS Vita owners buy their games digitally nowadays so it's vital to know the download size of a given game before getting too excited

I gotta get a 64GB card asap.

chrish19903132d ago

You'll need a bank loan first XD

DualWielding3132d ago

that's why Vita's hyperexpensive propietary memory cards are stupid

"Most PS Vita owners buy their games digitally nowadays"

This is only because many of the Vita's games are digital only. In cases like this were physical is an option, I think most people probably still prefer to buy a physical copy.

I dunno, personally speaking I've come to accept vita as a digital platform, though no easily. I used to buy every game at retail until my local shops only stocked a few games. It's a sad reality, but the convenience (minus the memory cards) of having a game bought and downloaded while sat at home is preferable than spending an afternoon going all over town to look for a game that's probably hidden behind a used copy of FIFA 11. No joke, that's where I found a copy of the sly collection yonks ago.

Yeah, I only see about 8 vita games at WalMart. Didn't even think vita games were given retail releases anymore.

Even 3.1GB is a big data size for Vita memory cards. Unless you don't mind buying bigger overpriced memory cards

Pookandpie3132d ago

Man, eventually I'm going to have to get a larger memory card for this thing as I only have a 4GB, and if I got anything I'd want to pick up a 32 or 64GB card. However, I refuse to spend over $60 (the price of a new game on other systems) on such a thing.

The retail price of a 32GB Vita memory card is $99 (looks like $62 on Amazon, though), while the retail price of a Sandisk Class 10 Micro SDHC card is $16.99 (which is $13 on Amazon right now).

I got the thing to play Ys and Tales of Hearts, but it's really disheartening that even the memory card cost is high, and every time I see one of these articles I'm reminded that I should get a larger card to put all of my old PSP/PS1 purchases on my Vita, but I can't bring myself to spend that much on flash memory when there's pretty much no reason for it to be so expensive.

Agreed man, it's terrible when you're on a budget too. You've got this great machine, so many great games, but you're constantly having to decide what's going to be deleted to make room. I eventually sprang out for the 64GB card as a birthday treat for myself. Didn't have any beers or whiskey that day, but I had lots of games to play. To think I'm a grown ass man...

Persona 4 Dancing All Night Review - Junes 2: Electric Boogaloo | MonsterVine

MonsterVine: "Persona 4: Dancing All Night is a surprisingly satisfying continuation of the Persona 4 story. Dancing All Night takes advantage of its incredibly odd idea and weaves a somewhat meta but always interesting story that manages to feel like a worthy Persona sequel."

Persona 3 and 5 Endless Night Collection (PS4, PS Vita) Review | GamePitt

Rob Pitt writes: There are very few games out there which would suit a rhythmic game based around their soundtrack. The Persona franchise is perfect for this immortalisation as their soundtracks have all been incredibly memorable and so catchy you’ll find yourself humming and singing them long after you’ve stopped playing.

The Persona 3 and 5 Endless Night Collection comes in two variations, the PS4 and the PS Vita editions. The main difference being that the PS4 version contains a remastered download of Persona 4: Dancing All Night, a game which was previously exclusive to the PS Vita.

So, whether you’re a Persona fan or new to the franchise – if you enjoy rhythmic games such as Hatsune Miku, Rock Band, FF Theatrhytm, or even Osu, you need to check these games out.

Having previously played Persona 4: Dancing All Night on Vita, I was excited for the Persona 3 and Persona 5 versions. That is, until I found out they don't have story modes. The music in this games is good but not fantastic to warrant a rhythm game. The draw of P4 was exactly its story mode, that was interesting, long, and made up for the low quantity of songs. Without a story mode, the low quantity of songs become an even bigger problem for P3 and P5.

Maybe I'll buy them only when they get deep discounts.

Like $60 for all three games 😂

Dancing All Night had a pretty healthy amount of content. I still play it often on Vita.

The story mode was awful in my opinion. Played it once and never again.

P5 has a grand soundtrack, so that would be the one I would enjoy.

I like the fact 4 has a story to it as it gives the game more of a purpose as you work your way through it. However, the story isn't the greatest and it's quite long - borderline a mini visual novel with various song/dancing segments.

The two new ones basically get you into the action faster but you've basically heard all 25/26 songs within around 1.5-2 hours. The draw is that the songs are enjoyable to play along to and it's a fun game to just pick up and interact with via your favourite songs.

It's like Theatrhytm and Hatsune Miku Future Tone - Basically a list of great songs to play along with in Arcade mode. The difference there is that both of those games had a lot more songs upon release - Hatsune Miku has over 200 from what I can remember.
