Gary Hartley Writes: VULKAISER is lunch break shooting. Seeing off all six levels should only take you a few trial runs before you’re comfortable enough to smash through the stages without a game-over, and there’s something refreshing about the bite-sized scrolling as opposed to the eye-watering slogs other shoot-em-ups feel obliged to become. Add to that the gloriously over-the-top veneer of 1970’s anime -- did I mention you have access to a rocket punch? -- and those of you clamoring for Voltron Abridged -- The Video Game finally have your wish.
While it doesn't do a whole lot with the visual and audio power of its 70's anime theme, Supercharged Robot VULKAISER is still a fun shmup with some interesting ideas.
"Supercharged Robot VULKAISER is a new title by Astro Port, creators of shoot ’em ups such as Satazius, Gigantic Army and Armed Seven. This time you get a hold of your own 70’s anime mecha – Vulkaiser, coupled with your buddies, VulFighter team, and professor Amamori in order to save the Earth from a formidable foe from the far reaches of space!" - Rice Digital
Dealspwn writes: " Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser is a deliciously cheesy homage to mecha anime and an exhilarating bullet hell shooter with a fun transformation system. It's not ASTRO PORT's finest work by any means, but innovation plays second fiddle to pure satisfaction."
