Those are some pretty big improvements. Looks great. Been a long time coming too!

I see no big difference other than the left side is a bit brighter. The right side looks better though, I see some details added. It's not a huge difference... Or am I missing something?

Hmm, that's interesting. Didn't know about that many differences.

For those who can't see a difference

Better lighting
Better Shading
Better Textures
Better Models

The lighting looks more atmospheric, the shadows also increase that atmosphere of the game.

Reflections on some of the textures make it look more real and adds depth.

The models are hugely different in places, such as the Cylinder like objects in comparisons 1 & 2. Additionally look at the toilets and urinals.
The railings are massively better in the new pics.

Very nice job. Lots of attention to details and much higher visual fidelity. This in 4k or 1080p with 16xAA and AF would be beautiful!

If you are after a more modern iteration of this fantasic game, I highly suggest that you play Black Mesa (third-party remake of Half-Life made in the Source game engine).

The graphics are not top notch but they greatly enhance the experience (especially in the alien world) and the effects added are very nice.

I had a blast playing this on Steam Deck and it was a much better experience than playing vanilla Half Life 1
