Today Activision officially revealed the box art of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and it’ll immediately look familiar to veterans of the series. Yet, the protagonist's posture isn't the only callback to older games.
haven't people been complaining about the game being recycled for years, and now they're doing it with the box art?
I really appreciate when actual cool wallpapers come about..
Easy...there are rumors that Sony has marketing deal with the game. That is why you are seeing so much love for games like COD all of a sudden. Witcher III is out next month and I don't recall seeing any box art news made up for that game. so you are right, when is the last time we saw a box art for COD getting its own story on N4G?
You must live in a very small, dedicated bubble because I haven't seen "so much love" for Black Ops 3 because of some supposed deal with Sony. I mean if you love being so salty because of gaming rumors, just keep on keeping on.
Salty of able to play this game on 4k with my PC rig that never have any marketing deal for COD? Lol, I am just speaking the truth..when is the last time you see a box cover made into an article? Oh, if you go to the Dualshockers site, the box is display on a PS4 case..hmmm, why is that even needed when simply showing the cover vs and comparing it with the old cover is enough.
Salty and in denial. Pretty sure I recall Advanced Warfare getting a lot of love before release. And Im pretty sure that game had an exclusive marketing deal with Microsoft! :o
@Rookie_Monster "when is the last time we saw a box art for COD getting its own story on N4G?" Last year. http://n4g.com/news/1565283... http://n4g.com/news/1502001... Nice tinfoil hat btw. Very trendy.
Mrbeatdown, Those are news articles about Activision revealing the box covers for COD and not an article that uses a cover to invent a story about it. Please know the differernce between the two.
@Rookie_Monster I see what you mean now. This article is all biased Sony propaganda or something something something. I'm sure the lack of articles pointing out easter eggs on the Advanced Warfare boxart had nothing to do with the lack of easter eggs on the Advanced Warfare boxart, and everything to do with Microsoft having a marketing deal. Stupid Sony Ponies didn't want to talk about easter eggs then (even though there weren't any), but now they do! BIAS!!! CONSPIRACY!!! Keep digging. The truth is out there.
^Talk about a beatdown. lol
They probably where like: "Shit are development time for this game is like 2 and then a year on the DLC....lets just edit the guns on our older cod games and throw em on the cover!"
Sony are just smart. I haven't played cod since cod4 because I'm cool but i will totally check this out now go Sony!!
"Sony are just smart" And the fans of Sony are even smarter!
When you meant veterans I thought CoD 4 or even 3.
I thought cod 1 or 2 or even big red one
I've really dug Black Ops, don't dig the covers. Honestly, Black Ops III's is too dark. I like Advanced Warfare's action-pose. This guy just evokes "Bench-Warmer Ops III."
Won't be buying this one. Purchased MW last year after a 2 year break from the franchise and the only thing that changed was that it moved even further away from its gaming roots. I also could not believe the multiplayer lobby was just as inept as the one used for COD4 all those years ago! I've seen nothing of BO3 that has me hyped for the game as yet. When I watched the trailer all I could think about was how out of place the gameplay looked when paired with Paint it Black. All it did was make me wish the game was set during the Vietnam war!
