Why are so many games broken?

Will Hinch says "Video games are complicated beasts. Despite the countless hours of painstaking work that go into honing these masterpieces, broken games appear to be on the increase. This winter has seen the release of an unprecedented number of games riddled with what the developers call ‘technical issues’. But why are multi-million pound games released with a series of crippling (what we call) bugs?"

Because they are rushed out to meet release dates pretty simple answer.

Ill even use 2 examples, 1.driveclub imagine that game releasing as it is right now..makes u drool alil doesn't it probably would bee sitting at 80-90 meta. 2. Halo mcc, they needed it out for the holidays but imagine if they took their time released it like say feb 2015 it would have been a huge hit and probably would have taken attention away from the order

1.Customers who blindly proerder
2.Lazy, incompetent devs
3.Pressure from publishers to meet deadlines.

4. Not enough pre-orders/interest/budgets run out, so publishers put out what they've got to try and cut their losses.

Elwenil3385d ago

Yeah, we know why they are broken, the real question is, why do so many gamers put up with it and blindly swallow whatever trash they put out?

Simple answer we are an impatient bunch.

SaveFerris3385d ago

I'm fine if a game gets delayed in order to fix any major problems. Games shouldn't be rushed out if they aren't ready (for the most part).

Blastoise3385d ago

Because people seem to buy them anyway

More interested in money than giving fans what they want. Such a shame

CrimsonWing693d ago

With the amount of money they generated, I just don’t understand the scrubbing of this. It would’ve been fantastic for fans.

I really want to know who drove the decision to focus on multiplayer was it Rockstar or take two.

Because when online started taking off many of the studio leads began having falling outs and leading including a founder

Ikr mfs that greedy it's ridiculous

andy853d ago

This makes me sad. Trevor was one of my favourite characters in gaming

One of the reason I believe once gta 6 release, most of us thoroughly play it, enjoy the world they crafted then after that no offline support, no dlc at all
