I'm glad they are trying to fix Unity, and clean up the mess they made

KnightRobby3858d ago

And let's hope they learned from this so it doesn't happen to The Division and AC Victory.

Relientk773858d ago (Edited 3858d ago )

Agree, everybody must learn from their mistakes.

I hope them releasing Unity and The Crew with their launch problems, is what ensures us that all their future releases will be great.

*edit: That Ubisoft will do their best with their future games, to release the best games possible

Gore-Content3858d ago

I hardly believe that. And by the time the new AC game comes out people have already forgotten what went wrong with the last one.

Feralkitsune3858d ago

they didn't learn from AC3, and AC4 so why would they now?

pivotplease3858d ago (Edited 3858d ago )

I wish people would just not buy Victory. AC is one franchise that needs a break...preferably a generation long break. The teams could be put to use on something new and fresh instead.

Waits for typical mainstream consumer to come and say, "You don't have to buy it. You don't know what people want. If we like to shell out $70 for the same product, that's our problem." Honestly where do these people come from? I'm glad I've never met one in real life.

dreamed3856d ago

You are joking arn't you?......both games will be broken at launch, its pretty much guarenteed

what problems has the crew had? its been smooth for me.

Angeljuice3858d ago

It was impossible for many to join a crew at all when it first launched, I'd hazard a guess that it would be considered a fairly major flaw.

Im on PC and I had an issue where I would lose connection to the server in the middle of missions so I lose my progress. Very annoying when you pull off a great escape only for the server to drop and you have to start all over again. Of the 10 hours Ive played its only happened 2 or 3 times. My connection is fine so its not on my end.

Another issue was my Uplay friend could not join my crew. We tried everything but couldnt get it to work.

pivotplease3858d ago

The Crew? More like the poo.
Sorry that was a throwback to Jack Black's Uncharted Poo joke lol.

Eonjay3858d ago (Edited 3858d ago )

It great that they are going to fix it. But, for next year, PLEASE ship a more tested, bugfree product.

They have 4 HUGE patches in less than a month addressing hundred of bugs. Thats just embarrassing.

Clonetrooper11393858d ago

It was hard for me to get totally angry at Ubisoft for AC Unity. It was obvious they put a lot of work into the game. The environments are just so stunning. The vibrance of Paris is incredible. Hopefully they will learn from this.

Geekman3858d ago

It was easy for the 12 year olds who decided not to ask their mom for the game to get mad at Ubisoft, though. Though There really is no excuse for releasing an unfinished game,

-Foxtrot3858d ago

Obviously not enough work, especially with their game testers.

Some of my friends recently went to Ubisoft to do some games testing, they do a gaming course at Uni and apparently the main guy in charge of the testing, among with some of his colleagues don't even have any gaming experience, they got degrees in politics and law.

Angeljuice3858d ago

Can this game be sold in China at all? I only ask because I am aware that China bans all films/TV programs that depict time travel for some obscure communist reason.

Voozi3858d ago

Good, then I'll actually open the game and play it.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis952d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde952d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils952d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia953d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack952d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain952d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall952d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast952d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
