Failing to be a new kind of revolution, The Evil Within is a survival horror as effective as generous with its mix of action, infiltration and executions. It calls for every day formula initiated by Resident Evil 4, while drawing inspiration from his predecessors and successors in the competition, but it lacks both fresh inspiration and an additional level of refinement to become an indispensable classic. Still, you can count on good entertainment without too many bad or good surprises.
