The Witcher Adventure Game Preview (Twinfinite)

Mike G from Twinfinite writes:

Gamers have a wide variety of interests. Gaming from the couch, gaming at a desk, tabletop gaming with friends, board gaming; all of these and more are wondrous ways to game. And the crossovers between the mediums are plentiful, drawing fans out of their comfort zones into new areas of enjoyment.

But what about an awesome fantasy action-RPG based on a book? Like that? What about a board game based on that video game? Not drooling enough? What about a computer version of that board game based on the video game that was based on a book series?

Enter The Witcher Adventure Game, the digital version of the physical board game based on the hit action-RPG franchise The Witcher.

Well deserved, these guys have earned it. Not only by releasing a damn fine game but also because of their player-friendly approach to pretty much everything.

Agree.

Let's hope a chunk of that profit goes toward making cyberpunk as great as possible.

wakeNbake3672d ago

Off topic but I totally found a reference to Cyberpunk 2077 in The Witcher 3.
When you first talk to Ciri she mentions having been in another realm that was strange, if you ask her about the world she describes it as "people had metal in their heads, fought through lenses from far away, and travelled on flying wagons"

robtion3672d ago

@wakeNbake Yeah I noticed that too. Pretty cool.

Maybe there will be a Ciri easter egg or cameo in Cyberpunk?

Magicite3672d ago

Lets hope their next game will be even better and they keep making more money, they deserve it.

I'd love to know how this site says they got back $200 million. That's an average of $50 back for each game sold. That's unreasonable and makes no sense.

This isn't to detract from the great success of Witcher 3, but I find it very hard to believe that they made back $200m from only 4m sold. A safe bet based on reasonable math says around $80m was made back. Which is almost 30% profit gain and all things going forward will just be even more profit.

Edit: Also, people, they don't take home the full retail price of a game. At least half of that goes to pay for the game being put out as well as retailer fees and other things. So, a $60 game sold isn't $60 in CDPR's pocket...

first you need to work your way to get 67$ Million.

Double_O_Revan3672d ago

Hell, I'll take the measly $200 of a $67 investment.

AzubuEntus3672d ago

Almost triple the profit and still going.

Kal-V33672d ago

Damn, good work! Cyberpunk will get the ONLY budget. :)

cha-ching!

Playing the game now and it is fantastic. Definitely this is how gaming should be done.
