Vanguard Princess Review- Gameluster

Vanguard Princess can easily stand toe to toe with the likes of Street Fighter or any other fighting game out there. It’s fast paced, the controls are responsive, attacks are wild, flashy, and the animation is really well done. The story leaves much to be desired, and the lack of modes makes the game feel a bit empty, but what is there is pretty solid.

Enter Vanguard Princess, billed as a two-on-two fighting game developed by former Capcom sprite designer Tomoaki “Suge9″ Sugeno. The game itself consists of an all-girl cast of 10 major characters and four to five assist characters. (Not counting the DLC characters.) Review: Vanguard Princess (New Gamer Nation)

It seems that anime and fighting games always seem to find themselves in a symbiotic relationship. On one hand you have anime girls in skimpy clothing and on the other you have these girls go up against each other in a battle to the end. This formula has worked for several fighting franchises and even lead to some of those franchises being staples of the fighting community. While Vanguard Princess is certainly a very capable 2D fighting game, there just isn’t enough to set this apart and make it the new fighting game du jour.
