Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs Review | Nerds on the Rocks

The sequel to this original and mentally disturbing game leaves a bit to be desired. While not a bad game, it fails to live up to the original, but more importantly doesn't scare the user.

Well that was unexpected. Its still good but doesn't live up to the original. I think it still should deserve more than a 57/100.

"but more importantly doesn't scare the user."

That is NOT a good thing at all. The developers literally said that AMFP would be way scarier than the original and that they'd make you "too scared to even turn your computer on". Seems like a lot of bs dishonest hype now, looking back.

Gamespot gave this an 8.0. Maybe you should look at other reviews and hear what they have to say before condemning this game from one single shitty perspective.

Who says I've only looked at this single site's perspective?

I'm well aware of the 8 from Gamespot, as well as the 9 from NowGamer and the 89 from PC Gamer. I'm well aware of the different scores and opinions.

From what I've read, AMFP is not as scary as the original, but is better in other aspects. However. with this being a horror game and all, I care more about the scare factor than anything else. Sorry if that's a problem for you.

This game is getting mixed reception now :/

I expected most of the reviews to praise it but it looks like it is a mixed bag which I didn't really expect from this game.

I am just going to check deeper and see if it deserves this kind of reception or not. I can't really judge the game from just reviews.

oh well, reviews are worthless. no advertising equals bad reviews... look at all the 10s gta iv got.

Sideras4304d ago

Well guess that's what you get for letting the pretentious hipsters at The Chinese Room develop it.
This sucks big time if the review is anything to go by.
