I was planning on waiting for ps4v, but with this I'm getting ASAP

Abriael4313d ago (Edited 4313d ago )

Yeah there's absolutely no reason to wait now. Too bad they aren't including PC users :(

Eonjay4313d ago

So yeah, get it today!

abzdine4313d ago

ok!! i'm buying this now!

mewhy324312d ago

Oh yeah!!! There's yet another example of Sony doing what's right for their gaming community. You'd never see micro$$$$$oft doing this. You have to pay some kind of fee, if they even let you do it at all. Way to go Sony. Lead by example.

AlexanderNevermind4312d ago

As one who went for the PC edition over the PS3 I total agree. Just let us all get the PS4 version for free.

NegativeCreepWA4312d ago

mewhy, what does Sony have to do with this? It's Square Enix that's doing it.

Unfortunately yes. $10-$15 a month I think.

zep4313d ago (Edited 4313d ago )

even for playstation users? how does that work? i though it was free if you play it online
on psn XD

RedHawkX4313d ago

so basically you are a dumbass if you play this game on anything other then a playstation system? anyone who gets the xbox version is just stupid at this point.

Deathdeliverer4313d ago

Yeah. They would also have to be magicians if they got the Xbox version because there isn't one. Anyway is great news for me. Already have the pc and ps3 versions. PS4 paid off too.

Magicite4313d ago

if u can get xbox version then ur a god, cos it havent been releaed on xbox and proly wont.

Dagobert4313d ago

Bro cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Sevir4312d ago

It's console exclusive to the PS3 and PS4... With Remote play available for vita... So, playing the PS version is better than playing on PC

AlexanderNevermind4312d ago (Edited 4312d ago )

@RedHawkx,

lol my brother....nm :-)

@ Sevir

Although this game is not that graphics intensive the PC version will always be able to play at higher resolutions than 1080p (for those who have the capabilities). Still the PS4 version should be top notch.

Wizziokid4313d ago

Damn I kind of wish this was the same for PC owners, would love to swap between PC and Console depending on how I'm feeling.

Still awesome news for the console players

anonrus4312d ago

can confirm having access to it on ps3 and pc is very convenient.

Wizziokid4312d ago

yeah I just can't afford to buy it twice at the moment but if i'm still in when it launches on PS4 i can see myself getting a copy

ibrake4naps4313d ago

Cuz they want u to keep paying that bill to em!

phallusitator4313d ago (Edited 4313d ago )

True. But it's still a nice gesture. Hopefully other companies will do the same with their PS3->PS4 conversions.

Also I got the PSN version for free. So, win-win!!

JAMurida4313d ago

Yeah, it's interesting how that worked out with the whole PSN pre-orders from 13th-15th getting the game for free, and now this for free.

I really didn't expect them to let people upgrade for free like that, but there you go. I'm guessing it's mainly because the sub fee is what's making them the money, so they can take a hit on that.

It’s really old now. All great MMOs decline.

PRIMORDUS2d ago

Also who wants to keep paying a monthly fee every month, there are other options like Guild Wars 2 😁with no monthly fee and while not that many people overall compared to FF XIV, it did increase to about 21 mil now.

Sephiroushin1d 20h ago (Edited 1d 20h ago )

I prefer to pay since i do not like guild wars and it keep kids away, but FF14 decreased on quality since they started to make it "more accessible", tried throne and liberty and while it was okay it has so many issues, same for dune awakening... Its time to start making a new FF MMO

kaewcha7342d ago

Looks like Square Enix is self-aware but still stuck in place, they see the player drop and apologize for the bugs, but nothing really changes. Shame, FFXIV used to be the gold standard

Servbot412d ago

My entire free company has stopped playing. The writing has consistently gotten worse and the content is sparse and lacking; unless you are a hardcore player there's very little for you to do. They are over-catering to the people who will grind three+ times a week on a single fight for multiple months when the playerbase by large doesn't want that sort of content. Square needs to dedicate more resources to the game instead of wasting them on mobile and other live service slop.

Miraak82 2d ago

The biggest factor for me is the way they butchered job design over the years , the casualization and over simplification really hurt a good chunk of enjoyment I used to have . Jobs lost any form of complexity and just became " press glowing button" DDR style for fighting where the gameplay loop is a about the 2 minute burst window . They removed most DoTS, timer mechanics , cast times, pets, RNG ect and all around homogenized everything . When you try and can cater to everyone ... you cater to no one .

Do you not see this happening during development? Like, why are we apologizing after the fact instead of stopping it during development?

Stopac6d ago

Criticism and reflection occur after the fact. The apology acknowledges the past criticisms with the new expansion and they're keeping transparency with players about it. Now that they've acknowledged it - it will be interesting to see what kind of cycle we'll get with a new expansion and I wonder if they're planning something special with beast master since they didn't mention it in the last live letter.

anast6d ago

It's all good, as long as the price of the product decreases.

Stopac6d ago

The base game and expansion go on sale all the time and doesn't stay full price for very long since a new expansion is on the horizon.

If you're stating they should reduce the price of new expansions or the sub fee, no, that's not gonna happen lmao people aren't even complaining about that. They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy.

anast6d ago

"They are criticizing the same old pattern of content that releases and how it is devolving into mediocracy."

The product should be cheaper then.

PapaBop6d ago

I was unhappy with DT and have spent far less time in it than any other expansion but it's things like this that makes me respect Yoshi P. It's rare for such a high profile developer to be so candid in his assessment on a live game.

Stopac6d ago

Same, i've found my self resubbing every two patches instead of keeping it up. Don't own a home in the game so there's no point in keeping a constant sub going. The post story is getting interesting though.
