Why PC Gaming is Surging

IGN - It wasn't long ago, of course, that PCs were hounded by the usual premature proclamations of demise heaped on the platform since its first heyday ended sometime around 2001.

PC gaming was in a bad place the last console launch 2005-2006, it's now as alive as it has ever been, great time to be a pc gamer

It was revived thanks to Steam.

Gabe Newell nearly single-handedly restored PC gaming to its illustrious status of the yesteryears.

I must admit, though, when Steam first launched it was terrible, crappy, slow and cumbersome. But now I feel like a kid in a candy store every time I use my 360 controller to navigate through my library in Big Picture Mode. All the convenience of a console, with all the perks of a PC.

Steam is probably 25% responsible. Which is a huge number if you think about it.

Giving people options is what keeps them coming back.

Also, Steam is the only place with ACTUAL sales, and not just 10% off 4-5 years after release.

There is always something 60-70% off.

Consoles Are Killing PC Gaming, without console sales a lot of these games would not even be made

Computersaysno3887d ago (Edited 3887d ago )

Without constantly advancing PC gaming technology none of these or the next consoles would even exist. Hooray for PC gamers leading the industry and pushing it on!

You know that PC guy yall called an elitist nerd? Well he just paid for a new part that'll allow companies to keep developing their technologies and improving them to eventually down the road put in a new console. Hug him.

Without PCs and consoles none of these games would be what they are.

They need the revenue generated by all the major platforms in order to be able to invest the kind of money and time that they do in games.

Its not so much that PC gaming is good, its just that console gaming is becoming increasingly bad.
