Like they will add it. There are so much stuff they should update but they dont.

I think it's the first petition in a long time that makes a reasonable request and not some kind of unrealistic demand that only caters to hardcore fans of a certain game.

It's not to add subtitles, it's to indicate if a game has subtitles.

EDIT:Ah you edited your post, nevermind.

Finally a petition worth signing. I LOVE video games and can't fathom something so simple isn't already in place to help people circumvent a handicap; same goes for color blindness. Always sad to see when the bottom line is more important than doing the right thing.

It's something that's not given enough thought really. I was playing a game the other day, I can't remember exactly what game it was lol, but I remember seeing a colour blind mode in the options.

I'd never seen the option before and it made me think how hard it must be for some people to play certain games if they are affected by it.

So yeah, it would be great to see a lot more attention given to gamers who need help with handicaps, one of the few petitions I don't mind signing.

Colourblind mode is a godsend for me in games that offer it. There are many games out there that are unplayable just because I can't distinguish between certain colours. 1 in 10 men have some level of colourblindness -- it's baffling to me that so few games take that into account.

Sounds like a good cause. Signed. Hope steam adds the ability. Everyone should be able to experience games in some form, regardless of disability.

NicSage4224d ago

I wish that all developers would add in a colorblind option.

I've struggled with it in many games, BF series is terrible I can not tell between the Team colors, Orange for Friendly vs Red for Enemy. Makes it real tough, but I think it makes me play better.

I think this petition makes sense considering to some people it is required and not that it is required for me to buy a game I always turn on subtitles.

Valve Coder Says There Will Be No AMD Z2-Powered Steam Deck

Shaz from Pixel Swish: "With AMD to reveal their upcoming Z2 Extreme chip at this year’s CES, it’s looking like Valve aren’t going to be one to use the powerful APU in a Steam Deck successor."

I don't think we'll see a new Steam Deck for at least a while longer. The Z2 line looks amazing but is also very power-hungry. Valve is likely aiming for a more balanced approach—something that strikes a better balance between power consumption, performance, and, especially, price.

So, my best guess is that we'll see something closer to Q3/Q4 2026. And it will be a custom solution.

Is it worth them doing another steam deck when they are putting their os on other handhelds?

blacktiger44d ago

we don't know if they are doing it

We'll see a new Headset before a new Deck.

porkChop44d ago

Valve said they're going to treat the Steam Deck like a console rather than a phone. We likely won't get a next gen Steam Deck until Holiday 2026-2027.

Gives people less buyers regret that way at least

time to buy another handheld then

Steam now reserves the right to remove a season pass for missing deadlines

Valve has just rolled out fresh guidelines for Steam season passes (DLC) to help prevent gamers from being misled! It's interesting to see that the company views season passes in a similar way to pre-purchases, which means they’re subject to many of the same rules and considerations.

I agree but honestly with them forcing devs to state that you're renting a license for games and now this, it just seems like they're covering their asses for the inevitable legislation changes that will come. It's already happening in some countries, gamers aren't putting up with the shit of scummy devs anymore, at some point governments can't ignore people anymore. It benefits both steam and their players so I'm all for it, the other stores will probably wait with doing this until they get forced to, the great overlord being smart as usual.

Publishers are the problem, they are pulling stuff in... and out ok. (pun intended)
