Amazon scamming you on game bundle prices?

When you get to that point in life where you have to purchase your own games, getting stuff cheap becomes an important part of the game-buying process. Waiting for a sale, buying used, or purchasing game bundles are great options for the savvy shopper. On day one of Amazon's Summer Sale, however, it seems the company may be trying to slip one past you.

The way I see it, GameStop is the biggest "scammer" of them all-- if you go into it knowing what you're getting yourself into & still agree to their terms, (prices), then you can't say that anyone "scammed" you other than yourself.

Me? I still use GameStop all the time. I also use eBay & Craigslist-- it just depends on what I'm buying/ selling & how much time/effort I'm willing to put into it when I decide where to go to "get my gaming on".

I'm the same way. If I'm selling a big ticket item like a console I use craigslist to maximize return on investment. If I found a copy of pokemon under my couch from 4 years ago I just go to GameStop and get a dollar of my next purchase.

I don't get the point of these bundles, they have the console and a game at the price it would be too buy both separate.

Right now you can get Borderlands GOTY, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands 2 season pass for $22 in one of the evil "bundles". Someone please explain to me how this is at all misleading or a scam?

It's ultimately up to the consumer. If consumers are too ignorant then scams will run rampant.

In this industry it's a bit harder as many consumers are under-age and rely on the parents to make purchases based on their demand. Under these conditions it becomes very hard to eliminate predatory business practices. Parents want to provide for the wants of their children while the child wants something regardless of consequence.

Thankfully, I'm a father who is a gamer himself and understands the industry.

Even in those situations a parent should never be at the whims of their children, and should still have common sense enough to verify the prices and products they are buying. It doesn't matter if you're a gamer or not, common sensible purchase practices will always ensure you get the better end of the deal.

Agreed. I however still find it difficult deciphering the terms and conditions. Even when or if I do these terms and conditions change, leaving me little to no warning. I doubt though that anything could be done if they wanted to change something in their favor. The most I can do is stop buying at that point. The predatory part is when they take away all your past purchases for something you disagree with today. That is the part when even the responsible consumer has no control.

I got scammed on amazon when I bought Just Cause 2 for a dollar. evil jerks!

So apparently people are drones who can't make decisions on what they should purchase and from where? Amazon pricing is their business, it's either you buy from them or not. Personally I found their prices and service extremely satisfying.

If you're an idiot who doesn't take the time, even to check out the product you're buying then you deserve to be relieved of you money. Never quite understood why people complain about things like this.

its not a scam perse.. it the retail price. have you ever looked inside books? there is always a msrp, stores sell it for much less.

However there are lots of ignorant people who will ignore those details, and think they are getting an amazing deal

Its your job to be informed, If you dont search around for lower prices that ARE available, then its your fault that you payed a little more.

Think it's being ignorant and sometimes too gullible with your purchases that's the problem with a lot of customers'.

Do your research I say especially if your going to use the internet for shopping. It's so easy to click on Google.
