E3 2013: ‘Saints Row 4′ Is The Most Extreme Open-World Game Ever

FleshEatingZipper: "At this point, you already know if you’re on the Saints Row train. Once a mere imitation of Grand Theft Auto‘s street gangsta motif, the series has found a new home in throwing out everything you know in favor of absolutely comical heights and abilities. I got to sit down with the game behind closed doors and now I’m more excited than ever about your new adventure as President of the United States. Yeah." (E3, PC, PS3, Saints Row 4, Xbox 360)

Puhlease! SR3/4 has to have one of the worst open-world games ever. This game is based off of the SR3 engine and you know how lacking that engine was. All the stores were the same, the environment looked the same, there were only like 10 character models for pedestrians and like 6 for the gangs, the pedestrians didn't talk or do anything exciting, weapons were lacking, and the side missions were severely lacking. The developer already said there wasn't much change in the activities and environment.

Saints Row 2 was the best.

What did you expect them to do in their situation? THQ was going over a cliff, and you expected them to redesign the entire engine? You think they got a money tree or something?

They could have just trashed it and the IP would have probably been harder to sell without a complete product to turn around and sell. Then the franchise would have probably died. At least now the franchise has a chance.

But yea lets hold a struggling developer to a higher standard because they didn't try to bankrupt themselves making a brand new engine.

This game sounds great to me, I mean just read about the stuff that's in it!
I will get the PS4 version for sure.
