Hardcore Gamer: Shattered Horizon is an FPS with a huge twist - you're flying through space. Also, going through corridors, but seriously, it's a zero-g FPS. Nuclear Dawn is a stealth-ish FPS, while Two Worlds II is more for RTS fans. Planets Under Attack has giant circles full of things doing things to other giant circles with things, but it's impossible to tell just what kind of game it is based on gameplay footage. It's got a neon-heavy color scheme, so if you've finished Blood Dragon and have a thing for that right now, maybe you'll dig it.
RTS; it's a beloved genre...but it's in dire need of originality or it risks being consigned to a small pool of fans.
In my opinion, they have evolved and become more complicated. Way back in the day with command and conquer games, they were easier to pick up and play. I’ll actually go further back to a $70 Super Nintendo game called “Metal Marines”. Not sure if I’m off the mark, but these cellphone, real time strategy games become overwhelming quickly to me. There’s too much going on at once and it turns me off. Not sure if there are any on consoles to be honest. If there is a RTS that is on PS4, I’m open to the recommendation
Metal marines... what a game, and Herzog Zwei too.
Ensemble Studios and Westwood closing spelt absolute disaster for RTS games, with exception of blizzard, no one made any real good ones. Microsoft and EA ruined two top franchises before closing the studio. such a shame
Over complicated. Dawn of War 1 was almost the perfect rts, its all been downhill since.
Topware Interactive will deliver the final piece of single-player DLC for its 2010 RPG Two Worlds II early next month.
I enjoyed this game on my X360, much better than the first one. Sucks we have to wait so long for TW3. I hope they port this game to PS4/X1 in the meantime, especially after all these updates and new expansions. Would certainly help build some hype for the third entry, at least a little.
Guess they're officially done milking the only passable game they've released. They can always rename Raven's Cry again and pull a couple more sales from the unknowing public.
Two Worlds II offers adventurers the thrilling experience of a perilous and daring journey throughout a vast magical land. Rich in story, detail and content, 2W2 offers an array of unique approaches to classic game elements that push the envelope for the fantasy RPG genre.
Played this on PS3 it wasn’t bad for a B game but in no way did it “offer an array of unique approaches to classic game elements” and sure as hell didn’t push any envelopes. Why release this multiplayer so many years later ? They should re-release for this gen consoles for 19.99 with the updates
