Today at independent developer conference BitSummit in Japan, Cave Story creator Daisuke Amaya revealed a 2D iPhone action/platformer called Gero Blaster.

Viva la Vita: "Gero Blaster, the latest game from Daisuke Amaya, the creator of Cave Story has only formally been announced for iOS platforms. However, publisher/developer Nicalis asked on Twitter if fans would like to see the game on PlayStation Vita, and the Nintendo 3DS. Nicalis previously developed versions of Cave Story for Wiiware, DSiWare, 3DS eShop, with ESRB ratings pointing towards releases on a variety of platforms, PSVita included.
Gero Blaster is a 2D retro style platformer starring frog Kaeru who is looking for his kidnapped girlfriend among the stars. The game is set for release this May on iOS devices. Nicalis just recently released Ikachan, an earlier title from Amaya, and are currently working on The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth for PS3, Vita, and PC among other projects."
