Wii U GamePad ‘not a tablet, its a two-screen experience’ – Reggie

Wii U’s Gamepad is not a tablet, and is distinguishable in that it can do a lot of things that your average tablet cannot. That was the sentiment from Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime in a new interview with the NY Times.

The story is too old to be commented.

3DS Player for WiiU? Ooooh interesting concept. I'd buy it.

all the Wii U is, is a console version of a DS. the tablet is the bottom screen while the tv is the top screen. which is very good because the DS works well and has great games.

Agreed, and it's definitely a good thing. all we need is a home console Pokemon RPG.

Nintendo needed to make a Pokemon RPG since the N64. hopefully they do it, but im hoping the similarities between the Wii U and DS play style and setup means more DS franchises get turned into console titles for the Wii U!

Absolutely! Most Of us have been asking for that for ages but I think Nintendo said Pokemon will always only be a handheld experience as far as the main RPG games. I really hope they change their minds. How deep could Pokemon be with the gamepad? Soo many possibilities.

What I like about the gamepad is they so many way you can use it like black ops 2 for example instead of having a split screen One person can view the game thru the gamepad as the Other view the game thru the tv
