Whether you call it “traditional” or “kicking it old school,” there’s something very nostalgic about Rainbow Moon, a new role-playing, PlayStation Network-exclusive from SideQuest Studios featuring turn-based combat, a top-down view, and a ton of other genre throwbacks. Older players will recognize the gameplay right away, as long as they weren’t living under a rock in the 90’s, as every aspect of this adventure can be traced back to its influences from 15 years ago. There’s nothing wrong with borrowed designs or inspired entertainment, but when the book on how to make a classic RPG is followed this closely, it risks becoming something that’s not unique enough to merit its own existence and not modern enough for a new audience.
“Rainbow Moon may not be for everyone but those who really get into it will love it a lot so I definitely recommend it to anyone who has an affinity for slow-paced SRPG adventures and doesn't mind grinding in order to unlock their full potential.” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
Publisher eastasiasoft has announced that Rainbow Moon is launching for the Switch today. The title is priced at $15 and takes up 1.9 GB.
The PS3 title Rainbow Moon will be making its Nintendo Switch debut next month. Follow six main characters on an unforgetable journey soon.
There's also the sequel rainbow skies. Tbh injust assumed this was already on the switch. I enjoyed it for what it was. Never did finish it though. I had the ps4 physical edition.
