Thirteen1 - You’ve probably heard about Project Adventurer by now; the upcoming FPS from Farm 51 has caused quite the internet stir for apparently looking like an Uncharted rip-off. But the thing is…this promising game doesn't look like a rip-off at all. And that’s coming from a bona fide Uncharted fan boy.
Maybe if they didn't make their character and sidekick look so similar, they wouldn't get the comparisons...

So it has snowy mountains, pirateships and temple ruins in addition to the jungle enviroment and samey characters. Not bad at all.
Graphics looks not even close to Uncharted. Uncharted Lightning is still the King!
Even though I love the Uncharted Franchise, I don't really get the kind of stupidity behind calling anything that is a Treasure hunter game an 'Uncharted Wannabe' when Uncharted itself was 'inspired' by Tomb Raider, that and this game is an FPS not an Action adventure which is Third person....
How is this being called a WANNABE when it's an entirely different Genre and it's just simply Treasure-hunter related? By all means if Nolan North voiced someone then it'd be too similar from that alone, but...
Fanboys getting up in any arms and calling this game a Wannabe or Copy is just plain stupid....
Uncharted wasn't inspired by Tomb Raider.
Both were inspired by the same 'pulp adventure genre' foundations, which have existed for decades. In the form of books, comics and movies.
Gameplay is very different. Tomb Raider was much more of a platformer and Uncharted is more of an action/shooter (with platforming). Well, at least until Crystal Dynamics decided to take a more Uncharted-ish approach with the reboot.
Now, regardless of this game's FPS approach, look at the visual design. Some of these screens look a bit like Shambhala from UC2.
So sure, there are some similarities.
But that doesn't mean that it's a clone or wannabe or rip off.
the author is obviously a fanboy as well. there have been plenty of games in this setting since pitfall... especially in the isometric style of game. then there are movies over the last 100 years.

And this game has gotten no where near the same amount of criticism that Uncharted did about it being a "Tomb Raider" rip off.

This game borrows heavily from Uncharted and battle Royale borrows heavily from SSB. OK? Can you please shut up about this already? There can be no defence for Battle royale since even the devs say it borrows heavily from SSB. Noone should be dumb enough to try and say they are not related somehow. If they do just point and laugh.

I don't get how this is a wannabe. It's like saying Assassin's Creed 3 is an American Conquest wannabe just because the settings are similar.
I think that as long as you don't compare everything in this game to uncharted then it may actually be a pretty good game. But since they are so similar, it's going to be impossible to ignore the comparisons. That may be the downfall of the game from the get go
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in one of the screenshots it seems as if this is an FPS. Without the third person traversal, cover/shooting, and stealth mechanics, I don't see how this can be like Uncharted, apart from the setting (which if anything is an Indiana Jones setting :P)

Yup. So true. I wish people would judge PS All Stars by its own merits and not complain that it reminds them of Smash Bros. Smash Bros. is fun no doubt, but it's gonna be cool to see how Sony's version plays.
On Topic, this game might LOOK like Uncharted but I have my doubts about it being anywhere near as GOOD as Uncharted in story or gameplay.
I like how people praise Uncharted as the king but when someone takes inspiration from it at all they bash that game... Wouldn't you want them to take inspiration? If you loved that game wouldn't you want to play something that can be just as fun but with a new twist?

The Uncharted-Tomb Raider thing was always a weak defense. Aside from temples, these games have nothing in common. You might as well say Uncharted is like The Legend of Zelda. Makes as much sense.

How many games have unathletic, out-of-shape characters? There are literally too many 3rd-person games to count, which all probably have platforming to an extent. You just described adventure games in general with the first 3 things.
It's funny how the new Uncharchick game is basically, verbatim, ripping off Uncharted's style, but people still think a few similarities made Uncharted a Tomb Raider rip off...
Ironically, the latest Tomb Raider game is more of an Uncharted clone than a 'Tomb Raider' game. Now that's funny

This is like Farcry vs MW3 definitely into this now. Time to learn. Adventurer is one clearly well placed game for me.
