This game looks decent enough to buy. I just wish the Vita had a true killer app by now...

morganfell4331d ago (Edited 4331d ago )

Oh look, well known PlayStation hater is the first one to post.

Seriously this is just trolling.

What is the issue? You spend more time in Sony threads downplaying their services and hardware than you do in 360 threads talking up their games and hardware? Do you realize what this says about you and your insecurity?

Sad behavior actually. And I am laughing. While these people are sitting on the ground staring up at Vita grapes I am gaming my ass off on that device.

The Vita already has killer apps. The only people that can't acknowledge that are those determined to see it fail. It's amazing to watch sites grade Vita titles and go after things in these games that were given a patented free ride in other titles.

But this is expected when those claiming to grade have no standards.

Bathyj4331d ago

Thats what trolls do.
Trolling IS their platform.

EmperorDalek4331d ago

So, where are these killer apps you claim the Vita has? You know what a killer app is don't you. You know, a game that everyone wants and is the reason why millions of people will buy the hardware to play. So, again where are these killer apps? Has a Vita game even reached a top 10 game sales list?

Half a year since its launch the Vita has struggled to move 3 millions. If the Vita had these killer apps your talking of I dare say it would have sold twice as many units. Sure it has some solid games but nothing that stands out as being must have.

LOGICWINS4331d ago (Edited 4331d ago )

Personally Morganfell, I feel that the people who defend Vita as if it were their first born are just as insecure as people who want Vita to fail. If someone saying that they wish Vita had a killer app results in you calling them a troll, then thats a problem. And the fact that you needed to bring up ur OPINION that someone is a "Playstation Hater"(which has nothing to do with the topic) actually displays ur own insecurity.

I could understand if the first person who commented opened up with "Vita sucks", but if saying a game looks decent and wishing the Vita had a true killer app (just like most gamers on the fence about purchasing Vita) is "trolling" in ur mind, then you TRULY fit the N4G stereotype that this is home to blind Sony worshippers.

@smashcrash- Thank you. You have proven my point.

Elimin84331d ago

My only gripe with this game is I want more and there's nothing left to do but wait on dlc.. even then after dlc you will be wanting more.. Love this game...

xAlmostPro4331d ago

@EmperorDalek

I think you're half right about what a killer app is. Although i think you mean 'game'.

A killer game doesn't always mean epic sales or top 10 lists. If anything the killer games to me are usually the ones people sleep on where as judging by what you're talking about, you would like a game that busts sales such as COD(which is coming).

As for half a year let's not forget until late February it had only launched in one place on the planet. February was it's full release and that's 4 months ago.

It's had great games. Uncharted is great, Wipeout never get's old, escape plan is fantastic, Rayman is good, Gravity rush is brilliant, Everybodys golf is always fun.

Vita had the biggest launch line-up of any console yet. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying they are all fantastic, because that would be false(and it's a reason for the 'no games argument').

In fact i'd say only the games i listed plus maybe a couple psn only titles and of course psp games are worth playing at the moment.

It does show and get my point across that, despite what people say there are good games there. This is a handheld/portable device. Mostly intended for travel/out of home use(in theory, we know it doesn't work that way) so a few games is enough to keep people going each month.

Not only this but all consoles have a fairly weak/slow launch. Because of marketing/timing etc. Look at the 3DS, that was heading vita's direction until they dropped the price and announced a really strong line up late 2011.

I personally just don't understand the hate Vita gains. Yeah it has flaws(like every device) such as insanely expensive memory cards. The device is good though and the best titles take time, we all know this. The no games argument just isn't true. More would be better but it is what it is.

@Elimin8
Luckily i got DLC with my copy, included some extra missions and a new costume for Kat. I agree though, this could form into a great franchise. It's like Infamous for me, great/fresh game but over time will become a bit repetitive. Then hopefully as with Infamous 2 a sequel will show up and make our jaws drop haha.

Elimin84331d ago

@ xAlmostPro......
"Uncharted is great, Wipeout never get's old, escape plan is fantastic, Rayman is good, Gravity rush is brilliant, Everybodys golf is always fun."

I have those exact games except Everybody's Golf.. I do have MSrc...

Seems like you havent played the Game, sorry but this game already has "Killer App" written all over it.
The majority of review Sites describe this Game as Best
Vita game and "Must Have"

smashcrashbash4331d ago (Edited 4331d ago )

And Logicwins jumps to defend again. Strange how you are always there to either troll or jump to the defense of people's negativity and downplay of Sony.I salute you. You are a very clever troll indeed to get all those bubbles.

solidjun54330d ago

" You are a very clever troll indeed to get all those bubbles."

I've been saying that for a long time. And the statement about you proving his "point" is so funny.

Fyflin4331d ago

I love it so far. It's the perfect kind of game for the Vita too, you can spend a couple of hours on it in one go or just play it for ten mins here and there.

Absolutely love the AR comic scenes too. More of this on Vita please, I'd LOVE to see a Vita version of Infamous!

4331d ago
AznGaara4331d ago

Just beat it. Its a GREAT GAME! Very different from the normal fps and 3rd person shooter thats out right now. Which is a shame because thats the reason this probably wont sell. Its definitely not a game that can hook the mass market by just looking at it, you have to play to see why this game deserves a purchase. It is without a doubt the BEST game on the Vita so far.

Forget Gravity Rush movie, give us another GR game!

porkChop108d ago

I didn't even know a movie was coming. If they can get the visuals and everything right I'll watch it.

Barlos108d ago

I didn't either, until this article. I'm also surprised, since GR was a commercial flop. Seems weird that they'd want to invest money into making it into a film.

I think the games are great though, especially on Vita. I think the move to PS4 killed the experience a little, but I'd still like to see a new one.

1Victor108d ago

I didn’t know it was in development ether but it makes sense after they saw the first doctor strange movie and the far from home fight, if it’s like that’s it’s going to be one of those Oscar nominees

Cacabunga108d ago

GR movie and shutting Japan Studio.. so stupid

porkChop108d ago

@Cacabunga

Oh yeah... Well there goes any hope for a new game. Shuttering Japan Studio was a really bad decision.

purple101108d ago

Surely you’d think if the movie is coming so is another game

And I couldn’t be happier.

Only played the demo of gr2 but let me say it’s one of the most artistic and inventive new games. Ps5 will power gr3 to new heights
Fingers crossed

Made my day hearing this.

Finally, something innovative

Redemption-64108d ago

GR2 flopped, which would they make a new game? A movie has more appeal and a successful hit at the bix office, could lead to a new game for the franchise

ChasterMies108d ago

Ok, I’ll stop sitting on Gravity Rush 2. It’s been in my library for only 8 years.

Chocoburger108d ago

Play Gravity Rush Remastered first if you haven't already, the stories are linked together. GR 2 is a fantastic game, it has a lot of stuff to see and do. In fact I have purposefully not completed the game 100% because I simply didn't want the game to end. I still have some trophies to collect, and a whole free story DLC chapter to play through.

Gravity Rush 3 would be amazing! But the team that made parts 1 and 2 were shut down, so I don't expect it to happen. This was Jim Ryan's biggest sin of all, shutting down PlayStation Japan Studios. What a shame.

FinalFantasyFanatic108d ago

Why not both? I really like the games and was disappointed we didn't get a third game to finish off the story, but I wouldn't mind a movie either if it's well done. Maybe it'll drum up enough interest to get us that third game.

damn that is aaalot of ppl

id rather have another Gravity Rush game than a movie tbh

DarXyde108d ago

Same. This series really resonates with my gaming spirit. I love these games so much that I got four platinums out of two games. I was always dreading that we would never get another game after Japan Studio's closure, but I'm feeling hopeful in them not giving up on the franchise with this move. My guess is that they're going to use this as a funding point

MrNinosan108d ago

That is the same amount as daily loading screens... never mind

‘Gravity Rush’ Film Based On PlayStation Game In Works From PlayStation Productions

hmmm... I mean if it's anime it could work. I have a hard time envisioning it in live-action.

isarai613d ago

Why are they making shows/films based on IPs they abandoned? First Days Gone now this, why?

DarXyde612d ago

Yep, agreed.

Like I often say, every 2-3 months, I'm bitching about what Sony did to Japan Studio and Gravity Rush.

This is annoying, honestly.

LoveSpuds612d ago

I loved both Gravity Rush games but I honestly don't see how you can blame Sony for leaving the franchise alone after the second game. It was good business sense, sadly the games simply didn't sell well enough to warrant the risk of developing a 3rd game.

DarXyde612d ago

LoveSpuds,

To me, my gripes are with the way Sony is handling shelved IPs versus best sellers. Sure, Gravity Rush is super niche. But the problem I have is that those games are punished for not selling well. Compare that with high profile IPs that sell a lot. They get PC versions to reach a wider audience. I guess what I want to say is that those games were already commercial successes and it seems a little backwards to not make an effort to expand access to those niche titles to PC if we're already going there, y'know? Games like Horizon and Spiderman did damn well on PS4. Certainly. But I also think the PC audience is incredibly diverse and games like Gravity Rush would perform much better on PC. It's just disappointing to see them give up on games that didn't do well on their original platforms and disband the studios, but make PC versions of system sellers.

I don't know. I just feel that, if Sony is going to put their games on PC, why not give gems like Gravity Rush a chance at a second life and keep the studio around? Their games aren't really what I would call big budget, so what harm does it do to allow them to remain?

Eonjay612d ago

@DarXyde I could actually see that happening. In fact the faster Sony could convert more games to PC the better for their bottom line. But, logictially, since they are primarily using an inhouse specialist to ensure QOL in their PC ports there is only so much content they can put out at once and this is going to cause them to prioritize their bigger releases. I want to see them expand the Nixxes team so that they can work on more projects at once. Right now we know of 5 games in the PC port pipeline. So there is going to be a bit of lag getting them out. And clearly, Sony don't want to burden its other console studios with handeling PC ports. And in some cases, like with Gravity Rush, the studio doesn't even exist anymore.

The_Hooligan612d ago

I am hoping that the movies do well so that Sony might greenlight a sequel game for both of them. In my opinion both gravity rush games are great and only thing that held back Days Gone was the slow pace in the beginning but afterwards the world opens up and it's a great game and both these IPs deserve a sequel.

jznrpg612d ago (Edited 612d ago )

Spot on. The first 5-10 hours is a bit slow weapon & skill wise and the bike died fast and was slowish especially if you didn’t know where to get gas . After 10 hours or so you start getting upgrades and cool weapons and your bike can travel farther/faster it was an awesome game. I think most reviewers didn’t get past the 8-10 hour mark and reviewed it off of that plus there were some bugs At launch but they fixed most of it fairly quickly

Inverno612d ago

The same reason why they keep making all those awful Marvel movies. Capitalize on the demand for more of these games, make some low effort/low budget movie, waste most of the money on advertising, profit. I worry for how the GOW, and SoTC movies will end up.

jznrpg612d ago

Maybe they get more interest in the games through movies and we get sequels . If it works out that way I don’t care how many movies they make

EvertonFC612d ago (Edited 612d ago )

Days gone could work well as a series imo but I get what you mean.
Hopefully days gone is a massive success to green light another game.
I think it's great all this gaming into movies or TV series tbh and think they should have done it long ago ie heavy rain would work well, ratchet TV series or Bloodborne TV series etc.
Having said that it's important to remember some will turn out better than others and some might be just crap.

Wow they really going ham on these films

-Foxtrot613d ago

Sony are going crazy at the moment with adaptations and I really think they need to slow down and make sure the first project or two they already have in production is good before they start churning these out

Sony Pictures is not like Sonys Gaming Division, they are idiots, they couldn't even get Spiderman right without backing off the MCU and now you have Spiderman-less spin offs, Venom was meh, Morbius was awful and we have Madame Web, Kraven, Silk and more coming out.

Sciurus_vulgaris613d ago

The films based on the Spider-Man-rouges are likely pumped out so Sony Pictures can maintain its Spider-Man film license. I’m surprised Sony didn’t just sign a production deal with Marvel Pictures. Sony could have produced Spider-Man and other associated films for Marvel as part of the MCU. While Marvel Pictures handled the story and overall narrative direction.

CaptainHenry916612d ago (Edited 612d ago )

Madame web? That would be ridiculous and comical if they release that

GoodGuy09612d ago (Edited 612d ago )

Oof... should just be an anime. Live action ain't everything.
