Thuway explains that Sony isn't just laying off people randomly, but there is a larger plan to restructure for efficiency.
Paul Rustchynsky, who was additionally lead designer on several MotorStorm titles at Sony‘s Evolution Studios, is currently working on an unannounced project as part of Avalanche Studios’ new Liverpool development team, which was formed last summer.
We're working on another new IP that's yet to be announced. There are more projects being worked on at Avalanche than most people would expect!

Nice. I really like Avalanche's Apex system, it can make some pretty stunning environments. Hopefully it'll translate well into a racing game! (assuming that's what he's working on)
Motorstorm 2 deserves a remaster.
The balanced monster trucks vs dirt bikes.
"To set some expectations, I'm not working on a racing game.
So sorry, no DRIVECLUB sequel, MotorStorm successor or ONRUSH offshoot.
This is something very different to anything I've worked on before"
So it will not be a racing game. That's a shame. :(
Damn, i hoped a DC or Motorstorm sequel... :( let's see what they can pull out from the hat.
Sony's latest PSVR exclusive, Blood and Truth, is out in just a few short days, and we took a look around developer Sony London's offices.

sadly games like these are few and far between in the VR world. But devs are learning more and more and games seem to be getting more grand in nature. Exciting times ahead hopefully.
Can't wait to give this a go.
While Evolution is no more, its spirit lives on at UK racing game developer Codemasters, who snapped up the Driveclub team just a month after Evo shut down and set them to work on a new racing game that would become OnRush.
Are they going to continue the same development style of releasing a game before it's finished (or even well underway) and then developing it through patches for the next two years like they did with Driveclub?
Driveclub is my 2nd favorite racing game. Only the Midnight Club games (all of them) top it. I may get GT Sport later this summer. I can't wait for a sequel if they somehow get the rights to it. This makes me want to reinstall it even though I have the platinum.
Bette now than never.
Seems like current teams couldn't live up to Sony's standards..so they were let go.
Interesting. Hopefully their plan works out.
Sucks to be amongst those laid off. They probably thought they had a bit of security with the success of their system launch not 5 months ago...
this happens every year to every company i was layed off at gamestation and got in game even tho they are the same company and my best friends work in game. also was layed off a blockbuster one point in my life. it happens and something we have to deal with am afraid, sony are doing it for the better and looks like they have very good reasons. the games that was getting made are not what they want so they shut them down before money is wasted. its not sony fault people walk out too.
People forget sony are doing amazing in the gaming world also phones and tablets the xperia z1/2 are brilliant phones and like its waterproof and u can drop it same with tablet it can take a beating i wish the vita was the same as i would love it to be like xperia z. movies like this is the end and 22 jump street , spiderman are doing well also the music and other product apart from tv range are doing really good, sony has also bought that new building so why do they need other buildings, sorry people get laid off my point been is it happens every year if not day.
Kinda obvious. A lot of people are being let go as of late :P
