Everybody hates them, no one is willing to admit that they might actually be one and generally speaking they are the most annoying thing in modern gaming. The dreaded fanboy comes in many forms and here’s our personal top 4 hated ‘really passionate fans’.
“April was an indie-heavy month and it was hard to pick the best games but here we go! Hope you have fun and see something you like.” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
The Nerd Stash: "Abiotic Factor combines some of the funniest and more challenging elements into a facility where dimensional barriers have dissipated."
BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.
Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."
Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.
I would say Sony fanboys are the worst. Of course it could just be because this site is infested with them.lol
I would say the Kingdom Hearts, Dark Souls, and Metal Gear fanbases,
-kingdom hearts fans love to spread fanwank everywhere, and attack anyone who doesn't understand the very poorly written and convoluted plot. I like kingdom hearts to death but for gods sake it's not that good of a plot.
-Dark Souls fanbase literally will gang up and cyberbully ANYONE who even dares to post a video of themselves playing the game and having fun instead of taking it extremely seriously. It annoys gamers like myself even more when we're part of those fanbases. I like spent 100 hours playing DS1 and completed it but that doesn't mean that I have to attack people who don't take it seriously, especially when the plot is barely explained in the actual game.
-Metal Gear fans also love to spread their fanwank everywhere. God forbid someone mistakes Big Boss for Solid Snake or doesn't understand the plot. Or better yet, god forbid someone doesn't think that it's one of the best plots ever despite all the times Kojima blatantly ignores simple storytelling principles. There's even a LP'er who gets attacked daily although he beat the games, he didn't take the plot seriously and criticized some antiquated elements of the gameplay. They have even gone so far as to recently pay the trademark fee to trademark his youtube name and are attempting to sue him to get his channel taken down. $100 for the false trademark and then whatever fee it costs to get a lawyer for a false copyright that he doesn't own, all this effort to shut a gaming channel because someone didn't take metal gear seriously....think about that for a second.
Seriously, this kinda behavior is the reason why some talented developers don't even want to make games anymore. A good majority of gamers are toxic people and we really need to change as a community if we're going to even pretend like video games are a comparable entertainment medium to films and novels.
Sony, Nvidia, PC and probably xbox in that order
based on frequency and annoyance
Gen 1 pokemon fanboys are the worst. Go to youtube and you will see every Pokemon video plagued with Gen 1 fanboys saying tgat pokemon has gone downhill since then.
"Microsoft fans will frequently berate the PlayStation for lacking exclusives or the online support they crave"
Playstation LACKING EXCLUSIVES! LMAO! since when?
