Why so many disagrees? I don't remember any mods for GTA4 console yet there is some epic mods for GTA4 PC. Actually many ppl consider GTA4 with icenhancer mod the most photorealistic game available and I would have to agree. Even better than Crysis 1 which is still better than any console game and it was released in 2007.

I agree with 3-4-5, but if you actually go back to Crysis it's pretty easy to see that there are tons of games that are better looking. On console, and especially on PC.

I find it amusing how you say there are games that are better looking on consoles than Crysis but you give no examples whatsoever because you know I'm right: their isn't.

On PC there are certain titles with DX11 effects (that 360/ps3 are incapable of) that have arguably better graphics like Crysis 3 but since it's a console port it still has limitations that crysis 1 never had. And Metro 2033 + Metro Last Light look great for PC but are obviously held back by consoles.

Fair enough. Here are some of the games on console that I think look better than the first Crysis on PC: Killzone 2, Killzone 3 (though this one has more ups and downs than KZ2), Dishonored, Bioshock: Infinite, Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3, God of War 3, Ascension, The Last of Us (in most ways), Crysis 2 and 3 on console, Witcher 2 on 360. I'd say car games like NFS Most Wanted, Forza Horizon and Dirt 3 stand their chance too, once you respect that they're car games, and hell, even LittleBigPlanet 2 for that matter.

I mean, go back to the first Crysis on PC and run it on a fairly big screen (or try running console games on a small screen). There are a lot of things that don't look that good anymore. Particularly in the animation department. Even though the anti-aliasing and some of the effects are hardly ever matched on consoles.

On PC, I'd say pretty much every major game released these days look better than Crysis. Some even rips it apart, like Witcher 2.

This has nothing to do with piracy, yes console games are usually the first to be leaked and copied now mainly because they have earlier release dates.

yes, you need the right software tools.

It's always been possible, just very difficult and no tools are specifically made for that type of work. IT's easier on 360 and PS3 but it's still really hard to do and you can get banned for it.

Maybe you should read more carefully then...because I have the collectors edition and niko is included as a PARENT for what your online character can look like. There is not a model of him in the game.

Yes, but if having Niko as your characters Dad is anything like having John Marston for your Dad, you can turn the 'resemblance' all the way to the Paternal side for a spitting image effect.. I did this, and My characters face IS john Marston's face (albiet with different hair and a beard

You can only change the characters look by changing his heritage on the online mode only.
These screens from the article are obviously from the single player so yes it is a mod.

I think Niko was the most dislikable character ever in a GTA game at least for me Little Jacob is a close second don't know why anyone would go as far as to do this. Good mod either way looks good ;)

he can get funny/sarcastic at times during gameplay, his screams are great too

You can love or hate GTA IV, but Niko was, by far, the most developed and relatable character in the GTA series up to that point... more than Johnny K from TLaD, more than Luis Lopez from BoGT, more than CJ, Tommy Vercetti...

No no this photo is accurate. The gta 4 pc mod community has been rumored to be disecting and decompressing xbox and ps3 gta 5 files. Its easy to put gta files to ps3 and xbox but its really hard to change the codecs from xbox and ps3 to pc. I play gta 4 modded version on the pc. I can't wait for gta 5 on pc

You people need to understand before I continue, ANYTHING is possible in the software world. Even the most protected database could get hacked eventually. Just put the right people, tools and time and it would happen. Honestly smaller things like mods are mostly done by gamers that understand how to do it but if you payed the first person to get this to work, it would have happened hours after release. Since this isn't a big deal, it ends up being created after some time by a small time moder usually. Someone willing to put in time to create it or make it happen. Some people just don't wanna work so much to get these things. Anyways, I assume with a Custom Firmware (Jailbroken) PS3, a PC, right set of tools and a person willing to try and understands about mods, this can be done. I never modded on a console in my life but I remember seeing mods on PS2 with San Andreas. PC, yeah I'll download mods like many others but not much else so no idea how he did it but awesome that this person did this :D
